Yes, it is (I am also thinking that from everything I know about it, slow storytelling is also a lot harder to do right. Though I'll admit to bias- a preference for patient exposition in the creative narrative arts (including writing, serial comics, and music), and an utter inability to create anything more than the most short-breathed, start/stop examples of writing or music on those occasions when I have tried my hand at same... ah, bother! )
Anyhow.
I find myself wondering whether there will be any (non-physical) noticeable changes when Sah' etc. get back, or rather an unspoken agreement that nothing happened ( to that idea though I know it's not reasonless... ). Well, another something to see when it happens...
-Eric Schissel

In my case, it's mostly "hard to start right", and then, it tends to write itself pretty much. Although there are a few sugar-high-induced things next year that even I am not sure I understand why the hell they are there. But I probably had some thought behind them, so it should be okay. That, or I need to stop eating so much fruit sugar tablets.
*snicker* If you only knew... Not telling, of course, but still... It's... Amusing. At least I think so.

*snicker* I don't quest for long threads, but I certainly don't mind them. Fun!!!
Only thing I did interpret that as was feeding my ego. Which is excuseable.
The elementals may know most things, but they're not that bright (no pun intended) and all they would have been able to tell Nequii is that 'Rose is back and is in bed. Their memory is horrid, to boot. Give them a purpose, and they go ahead and follow it like faithful puppies, but don't ask them to observe things and tell you of them. Their grasp of time is twisted.
Well, 'tis not like he -planned- to panic in there. The only reason for him to panic -or so he'd thought- would be in a situation where hurting whatever other people were in the room wouldn't neccessarily be a Bad Thing.
Nope, Fen hasn't retired yet. She was just made a Paladin before she found Robin. And never was on a Quest, 'cause she's been so busy caring for her girlfriend. *snicker* I have thought of a suitable catastrophe big enough to bring her and a few more out of Haven, though. Mayhaps.

Well, I had my Keen*-board start in the CRFH forum, and though I like to think I've abjured (is that the mot juste?...) the seeking-of-long-threads and the like long since , my first "effort" was adding post after post to the "Name the Zombie Cat" thread -- long after Chester had a name, and just so the thread would stay near the top of the list.
That was sometime around June 2000, I think... not sure.

quote:

Yes, you do. (Edit, several hours later, *facepalm*-ing: this was not meant with a second meaning, or as damning with faint praise, or as anything other than to be taken at face value. I don't, typically, do sarcasm, fwiw, and it now occurs to me that there is a chance, though not a great one, that this might have been taken otherwise than as I meant it, and I should like to guard against that...)

Well, I recently re-saw (and finally understood) that Nequii had spoken with Irooz and called her by name, and that comic mentions the circumstances of the death of her first body; with you so far... ah, I see, (relocating the July 21 comic) Nequii holding the amber body while talking to Irooz... right.
Hrm... I would have thought the elemental effect was generated during the fight (the dark unicorn blood corrosion) but the salamanders didn't know about same? (Of course, telling oneself not to panic is said to be a bit like being told not to think of pink elephants. Supposedly (according to a webpage I saw once) this latter was once the fee of admission to a society of friends, however, so perhaps the expression needs revising...)

Well, seeing as fire is relatively short-lived, and only 'lives' to devour, the fire elementals get "short" flashes of very varying places as they move on from one fire to the next. Whilst water elementals generally stay in one place for what seems like eternity, except for the few ones that like adventure and follows rain everywhere. They tend to see what humans would call eternity as just another short moment.
*giggle* Well, it wouldn't surprise me if 'Rose did go through the reasons he might panic and furnish his room accordingly. He was, after all, an Assassin...
And now, as Saturday almost is over... You have Saturday's strip. Better late than never, isn't that what you say? ^_^

Yes, in re elementals, makes sense. Water elementals would probably like it here, it's perpetually muggy when it isn't snowing, but anyhow.
