I've been reading it since before your little sabbatical, and I agree that the character designs are better now. Though art doesn't really matter as much to me as content. I thought the school guidance counselor conversations were great. I still chuckle at those.I'll keep my links to your page up, but I can't promise too many hits from them. That would require that I get a bunch of hits myself, which doesn't happen very often...Be sure to sign up over at keenvention (if you haven't already). It's a good place for people and other comic strippers to get to know you and to plug your stuff, as well as any other comics you like. That is, of course, unless you want to be really antisocial! Hey, I feel the same way. Nothing frustrates me more than clicking title after title on the keenspace list page only to find maybe one strip in ten.Here's a little story about why I started a comic strip. I picked up the sunday morning paper and looked at the comics. I found that 99% of them sucked, IMHO. I thought to myself "I could write and draw better than this dribble." Not being one to make idle threats, I set out to do it.Now, I admit, my comic isn't that great (and that's putting it nicely), and I've found that making them is harder than I thought it would be. I'm just hoping that with practice and dedication, I can start producing real quality strips, ones that look good and are really funny. I believe in the "if you build it, they will come" philosophy, so hits don't really concern me as long as I think I'm improving (which is a good thing, cause I barely get any). I don't have as much of a problem with keenspace sites that advertise comics that *are* going as much as I have a problem with keenspace sites that don't have anything at all, or are severly outdated (as you said).I agree with you, keenspace is a great service provided to artists and funny people. It's sad that so many people have delusions of grandeur and then give up before putting out even one strip, or decide that MS Paint and 5 minutes is the best combination for producing a comic strip. If the goal of every keenspace stripper was to get into keenspot, I doubt we'd be having this discussion.I wish that Teri and Chris and the other Keen-execs would do a monthly cleaning of domains that have been registered but never touched, or are clearly outdated. Perhaps organizing the keenspace list by last update would be better than randomly generating it. Put the most recently updated strips at the top, idle ones at the bottom.Anyway, if my opinion means anything to anyone, my recommendation still stands for everyone to read your comic.JB "That Lemming Guy"------------------

Here's something that just fell into my inbox, what luck! It's a nice little speech about the do's and don'ts of starting a web comic, and summarizes some of the things we've been chatting about pretty well. It also goes on to some other issues that weren't said here, but you can probably guess what they are.

I agree on pretty much all counts. Though I do tend to obsess a little bit too much about hits/pageviews ("Hey! My readership doubled from 3 to 6 visits a day this month!"), about as far as I've gone with link-whoring is adding the Keenspace dropdown and posting on obscure forums like this one =]...I just find it odd that I read both Antisocial and Plays Well With Others, Inc =]

Oops, silly me forgot to click "Show Signature." Accursed message boards. The webcomic I own would be "Bubba And Alice", which suffers from a twice-weekly update schedule and incomprehensible handwriting, but which I've been told is funny.------------------
Bubba and Alice - The only comic on Keenspace with the word "Bubba" in the title.
