COPE'S HAT 1998-2013

Post by Cope »

Well, the strap broke on my old hat today and I finally had to stop wearing it. Admittedly, it was in a bit of a state.

I'm sorry that your hat is destroyed, but I really thouhgt this was a picture of a rodent that had died and you grabbed it up out of the dusbunnies and slapped it on the desk for a picture.

Your hat is a hero

It looks like your hat went belly down on a hand grenade to save his platoon.

Isn't that how he made the hat in the first place?

So today was my day off and I had nothing to do except a little xmas shopping and then draw tonight's comic...

...but when I got home from the shops the CMA awards were on so...

...still got that comic to draw...

...but there was some awesome performances and Swifty got presented the Pinnacle Award by all the artists she opened for back when she started which was beyond awesome even if she did end up crying and I was like "why can't I reach through the screen and hug you?".

But I've still got a comic to draw and I just realised how pathetic my life sounds when it's written down like this D:

So I might be getting a new position at my company that would not be as stagnant and vapid as the one I've got now.

I'll have to expedite production on my second book because without the feelings of bleakness and anomie I might not be able to relate to the main character anymore.

I also did phbites.comicgenesis.com and hntrac.comicgenesis.com way back when.

You have to remember though, that all McDuffie's virtual hugs come with a virtual "accidentally" brushing against your boobs.

Story time kids,
A very long time ago when I was first putting my comic up on CG, and making it public to my high school peers, my dude best friend told me it had neat art, but my story 'really sucked hard core (lollerskates)', because we were bros and that's how bros do, so I tried not to take it personally. I accepted the feedback and agreed I needed to probably start over/quit. Then my girl best friend yelled at him for being a royal ass, and told me it was 'fucking rad. What the fuck have you ever done?' Even though I heard and knew that my plot was (really quite) stupid from someone I trusted, it felt good to have someone else tell them to fuck off, because I was trying.

Stupid story short, I hope everyone has those people in their life: Someone to deliver the hard truth (most of the time), and someone who will sing your praises and fight your haters (sometimes)

No, and no. Being as famous and powerful as I am, I am surrounded by nothing but cynical sycophants.

Just kidding! I'm actually friendless and terribly lonely.

Due to extra shifts at work (stupid sick/holiday-taking coworkers) and other stuff draining my time I haven't been to keep up with my posting schedule. When I tried to get a bunch of work done on my only day off last week nothing I drew looked right, it was all off-model because I haven't had much time to practice and what little drawing I've managed to squeeze in has been for actual posting.

It's frustrating me...

So instead of trying to catch up on posts during my downtime at work last night I just drew a page of faces instead, practice practice practice...

I need time off but I also need money.

I feel you dude. I got called in to sub five out of the past six school days, which is awesome and really hopeful and so forth, except it's really tiring and it's so stimulating that so far I haven't really been able to work on comic stuff in my free time. Last night I inked a page and did some shading on the previous one, but I haven't been able to update at all in weeks. I had the weekend off obviously but I spent almost every hour either sleeping or playing Sims  Oh well. Hopefully I'll get into a routine and start finding time again.
