Well, I've been gone for... like a year or so, but I'm starting to get back into it. I've got two pages inked on the second chapter of my comic, one is half colored. I've got my files almost ready to do an actual print run of the first chapter. Yep, exciting times. Good to see everyone again.

Dasien has been trucking right along since March. After several, several months of hiatus, the comic has been back in full force. Two days a week.

I'm planning on ending the current storyline in December and I have a bunch of side-story pages ready to go. I've been having a blast doing the comic since returning.

Stepped up my art, too.

awww yeeeeeaa

So I *think* I have a good work flow going. Instead of working on things page-by-page, wherein sometimes I'm not *in the mood* to do whatever task comes chronologically next, or doing batch updates where I get sick of whatever stage by the time I'm on like page two, I just have a whole mess of pages in various states of completion so if I'm feeling like coloring I can color and if I'm feeling like inking I can ink and if I'm feeling like fuck these pages I wanna panel some new pages I can do that :) Knock on wood and I don't want to speak too soon, but it seems to be helping me keep my motivation up and my updates reasonably "on time."

Also I have an idea for a filler type week I want to do at some point in the future, which would require "audience participation" and by that I mean I'd ask you guys if you felt like throwing any of your characters over to me for a brief cameo. I'll spoil it because who the fuck cares, basically Tony is on some kind of dating radio show and/or speed dating process and single female/gay dude characters from other comics get paired with him and none of them want anything to do with him and ha ha it's funny because he can't get laid. then i jump in front of a moving bus

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Lately for me with artwork I'll just draw however much I can when I feel like it and then, since inking and colouring is easier mojo wise, I can work on that stuff until the drawing mood hits again.

Damn, I wish I had a comic at the moment.

On a personal note, I still can't think of a damn title for my comic *groan*.

Working one page at a time works for me best, I get my motivation from schedules and a deadlines, it keeps me focused. So working in batches is too chaotic for me. :)

Are you kidding? Dy-Gar loves dating shows. And humans in general! He'd be happy to attend.

(Seriously though, he might be just a little out of place, so only use him if you want to. If I had any characters with actual sexual impulses, I'd throw them at you so hard. But Dy-Gar is there if you want him).

So happy to hear that so many of you guys would be up for such tomfoolery :P That makes me a bit more inclined to do it if I get the chance.

I've reached a point where my workspace is so messy that my brain can't bypass the amount of clutter and crap, and I need to clean my whole desk before I can use it. Of course, I go into the room, saying "time to clean that desk," but suddenly this corner really needs priority tidying... and that one.... and this pile of magazines... oh maybe i should put my summer shoes away... -_-

I have freed myself of wordpress and it's shackles.

I am now updating comics again while my site person works on the actual comic site itself, but the comic are operational and that's all that matters right now.

Now back to building buffers for other comics!

I had a wordpress site for about 5 minutes before I found out they wouldn't let you write your own layout without paying money. Blogger is so much better.

Incidentally, I've just recently posted the fourth chapter of What Lies Beyond, and I'm making decent progress on my second book.

Huh, really? I'm using Wordpress and I've customized it to the point that you can't tell it's a Wordpress theme at first glance. Or is being hosted by Wordpress something else entirely?

The only negative I can say is how much memory Wordpress uses, holy shit!

Yeah, WordPress offers hosting, but you have to pay if you want anything beyond the basic stuff.

Emphasis on "basic". Customizing your site design beyond a handful of prebuilt templates is one example of something they lock behind a paywall.

Pretty solid weekend.

Finished making the next page of Sack of Oranges and finished page 2 of Angry D. Monkey and roughed out page 3.

It's going well.
