*Katherine regains consciousness, rolls over and gets back up*
I got some words of wisdom for everyone with a Keenspace site.
Do not attempt to create any folders other than the given comics, images, data, webpages ones. You are inviting trouble. Now you can put anything you want in those folders, but don't make new ones. That's what happened to my site this morning. I attempted to break up my monster-sized images folder into four images folders and ended up screwed.
I don't think Keenspace allows for any folders other than the four they give you. This may explain why Big Panda never worked. I had my panda images and .txt files in a separate folder.
If you are using a program like Ultradev that allows you to watch the files go up, it may look like the folders are in your site. But they're not.
Oh yeah, and forget about renaming your image files. Same deal. I renamed a couple of images and ended up screwing every link I had.
I wasted a large chunk of my four-day weekend making these mistakes, so no one who reads this should have to.
Now, to check what's still wrong and fix that.

Now it appears as if they're not letting me upload any new files into the images folder. Oh, that's just perfect. I remembered that Keenspace was having autoupdater problems and tried re-loading all the new files. I really hope the autoupdater screwed up, and I don't have something permanently wrong with my images folder...
If Ancient Messages wasn't such a huge website I'd jump servers. Maybe buy a domain name while I was at it.
You know, www.ancientmessages.com isn't taken...

Maybe I should try that. The problem is that the webpage updates but the images don't.
This also reflects badly upon me, because I just volunteered to rebuild Acid Reflux, and e-mailed the cartoonist the address to my art page. It's not going to look too good if I have broken images on the page.
I also got a computer of my own, and all my files are still on Emily's machine, which right now is completely fried due to something she downloaded. So everything's grinding to a halt.
Though they have a new server, you say? One that doesn't crash every other day? That would be pretty cool.

There have been a lot of problems with the move to a new server. It sucks, but it should be over in a few days.
Meanwhile, Nate has posted a few messages on the Keenspace egroup about the importance of having the ad on every page you put on the site. (And also about not posting porn (other people's porn that is), warez and copyrighted mp3s on the sites). I know, it's a bit of a bother, but could you please look into that?
(It's because of the ads that my new pages of art samples aren't on rocr.net. I don't want to force potential employers to look at ads...)
------------------
