And To Be Loved - A Hipster Webcomic

Postby MichaelYakutis on Wed May 09, 2012 10:41 am

I figured I'd take a second to introduce my comic, http://www.andtobeloved.com/. A webcomic about unrequited love, unhealthy obsessions, vanity, fashion, peer pressure, and apathy. So, in a nutshell, h*psters with too much time on their hands. Updates Wed and Sat and has been running for over a year now. Saddle Creek and Conor Oberst fans will appreciate it, but it's not strictly about Bright Eyes, so don't worry.

Today was our Saturday update (in which R, one of the leading male characters, brings a boy home)!

We will be doing a major redesign for the site within the next two months so keep your eyes open!

We've entered into a week of parodies. Here's a sample of the first. You can see more at the site: http://www.andtobeloved.com/archive/cha ... -page-154/

The creator of http://www.groovykinda.org made and AWESOME guest strip for us at ATBL. I am so honored that he did this, the strip is hilarious and makes me laugh every time I read it: http://www.andtobeloved.com/archive/groovy-kinda-guest-strip/

We recently launched our second comic through And To Be Loved. It's called My Girlfriend's Dog. It's about a boy, his girlfriend, and her annoying miniature poodle that the boyfriend hates. All strips are inspired by real life situations. You can read it here: http://mygirlfriendsdog.andtobeloved.com/

This story arc of going to a comic book creators workshop is largely inspired by real life events (not all of it, but most of it).

Well, chapter 8 (the webcomic endeavor chapter) has come to a close. But we're eagerly looking forward to starting chapter 9! You can start reading chapter 8 at the beginning here:http://www.andtobeloved.com/storyline/and-to-be-loved-chapter-eight/ , or see how it ends here: http://www.andtobeloved.com/storyline/a ... ter-eight/
