Hey man, thanks for stopping by! If anyone reading this hasn't checked out http://www.ponju.com , do yourself a favor and go. Now!
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't inspired by Scott McCloud. He really helped shake up the way we think about comics as an art form, web comics included. The re-tooling of Dedos to not fit on a page is a tough thing. When everything is on a page, you have borders that you can count on (or even fudge a little if needed). The good thing about the page is the sort of dynamic panel shapes that would emerge when squeezed in to fit. Without that constraint, it's too easy to make a bunch of rectangles and connect them with lines, but that got boring pretty quick. On the same note, with no borders, it's easy to be messy without that regularity. Which is where I think I am right now (but workin' on it). My aim is to make Dedos more dynamic and more involved as a web experience, even if it just means you have to scroll down to see what happens next. And on top of all this, having to actually write the story and draw it can sometimes get lost, which is why I want to take a couple weeks to really concentrate on the story. Without a tale to tell, it's all just window dressing.
I also want a new web design, but THAT is a frustratin' exercise. Augh, I'm still trying to design a logo or choose a font. I really like the interface for your site, Henry. It's very intuitive and works very well for your comic and news and very nice header images.
Thanks for all the kind words!! This is the kind of stuff that gets my inspiration levels rising. w00t!
.c. ^O____O^
