I really have to wonder about art schools. I mean, I may be speaking out of ignorance, (wait, yes, yes I am), but if you don't like drawing and painting what other people tell you to draw or paint, why go to a school that specializes in telling people what to draw or paint?
Of course, the other side would argue that the school gives you the tools to draw or paint anything you want, by forcing you to dabble in it. No college or University has ever existed where you didn't have to take classes you didn't want to take. You may have never used charcoal nor ever will again, but the exposure is what counts, perhaps?
That's kind of how it is in engineering anyway. I may never design a 2nd order passive band-pass filter again, but I had to do it a few times, just to get the experience under my belt or something.
Anyway, good luck with the search and I hope you get matched with an appropriate school or your liking.
JB
------------------
