Taking a short break from working on Island Hopping pages. Gonna probably do a few Inhumation updates, plus I did a few new comics for my journal comic Actual Stuff. Yes, that's right, I actually DO have a ComicGenesis comic. DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN!

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
I'm finding myself in a tricky position now.
I feel inspired to draw an illustration based on the "dream sequence" scene of my comic (which was actually pretty fun to draw), depicting my two main characters fighting velociraptors from a muscle car speeding on a cliff-side road... yeah, some badass nonsense a la Sucker Punch.
Unfortunately, if i draw this picture, it means that i'll miss this week comic update, and I already missed a few updates lately (between Xmas holidays and January blues*), so i should probably focus on the comic.
I wish i had the time to do both.
*...plus i'll soon miss a couple updates once ME3 is out.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
Valentine's Day is inspiring me to continue working on a post-coital Peter-April shower pic that I've been working on for Mrs. Bunny. I'll post what I got in the Doodles thread. I originally hoped to finish it in time for today, but kinda forgot about it as I got pulled away on other stuffs. At this rate I'm hoping for a release date of February 2014 or '15.

Yo, I feel you, man. Today was the deadline I constructed about four months ago for my chapter to be done. Yeah, I still have 25 pages left, and that's not including the extra ones I'll have to add in when I realize I forgot things or that certain events will take up more pages.peterabnny wrote:Valentine's Day is inspiring me to continue working on a Peter-April shower pic that I've been working on for Mrs. Bunny. I made this list on October 22. Why have I only crossed off 15 of the things on this list.

Probably going with new site today or tomorrow. But I'm not publicizing it until it has enough pages.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
Last weeks shifts gave me 2 days off followed by 2 days in then 2 more days off and Saturday day time before I started 4 night shifts on Saturday night, which I finished yesterday morning. So last week I plunged back into comic-ness. I drew, processed and coloured 4 pages in as many days then on my first night shift (which was the only quite one I got) I scripted the next 16 pages, which if maintain my week and a half updates would keep me going until September.
Still I've decided not to get so caught up in deadlines controlling my life. If I want to draw the comic I will but If I don't I wont. I liked drawing a group of comics together, processing them all together, and colouring them all together, it let me get into the swing of things with one particular task and meant I didn't have to keep switching the settings for my photoshop tools, which seems like a small complaint but it made a big difference.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
That's how it's gotten to be for me. If I do things in a certain order my work flows way better than trying to work on only one page at a time and adhering to a strict schedule. Ideally someday I'll be enough of a grownup to align said work flow to a strict schedule But that time is not today.robotthepirate wrote: Still I've decided not to get so caught up in deadlines controlling my life. When I'm in the mood to sketch, I can sketch out a bunch of comics in one go without any of them ever seeing the light of day! Which leads to me posting comics I drew 10 years previous and only inked the night before.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
Here's that aforementioned V-Day pic. So far I'm very pleased with how it's coming out. The actual image as it appears on paper is about four times the size that I normally do my comics at, and blowing my characters up to this size always makes it hard for me to get proportions right. Here, April's tail looks a little undersized, but it's also sopping wet; the water is of course going to take the fluff out and make it look smaller that it would if it were dry (haven't drawn Peter's tail yet). Other than that, how am I doing?

The shower BG will be added after P@A are inked. I'm not taking things below thigh level, and Peter's junk is only there for reference; his hand will cover it in the final version.

All that text and no link to click and nothing for sale??? What kind of useless spam is that?!

It's in the sig. Also in the text.
But seriously of all the kinds of spam there are the "wall of text" spam baffles me the most. I mean how is that even supposed to work? Are they hopping people will go "man, that's a lot of text, I'm not gonna read that, I'll just blindly click whatever links are in it."

It's mostly for search engines, so google will think "wow look at all the text someone wrote about this link, guess the site it links to is pretty popular and in all ways legit". My comic is on another hiatus... largely due to self-loathing and game programming.
Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?
My comic is...delayed. This is because of a catastrophic file loss due to a virus I had thought I took care of. I removed the virus, and thought 'Man was that close, better back up, I haven't saved everything to my external in over a month!' I clearly didn't look close enough to the files in my comic folder, because while the folders and sub folders were there, none of the pages were, and I deleted the old back up before checking. So, everything from resources to pages to templates and fonts all gone. More than a small amount of self-hating and a lack of enthusiasm to do the pages again is keeping me from DotG. So I'm working on a couple different 3-page samples for a bit, then I'll go back.

Hey Peter, could you please put the image in the link instead of directly in the thread. Someone browsing from work and running into explicit nudity might get in trouble. (Yeah I know probably noone will and also I know porn spam was in some threads minutes ago, but you know - rules are rules)peterabnny wrote:Here's that aforementioned V-Day pic. Spot on. Most of search engines use google's model and rank their search by content of sites that link to that page. It's mostly for search engines, so google will think "wow look at all the text someone wrote about this link, guess the site it links to is pretty popular and in all ways legit". What, so when we're taking about our comics and I drop a haphazard link to Robot The Pirate, that's boosting my comics standing as far as Google and Bing are concerned?Risky wrote:It's mostly for search engines, so google will think "wow look at all the text someone wrote about this link, guess the site it links to is pretty popular and in all ways legit". B-b-but I thought explicit nudity was the only way for a guy like me to get noticed!McDuffies wrote: Hey Peter, could you please put the image in the link instead of directly in the thread. Sorry 'bout that. I guess I'm so used to generally being ignored and getting the silent treatment whenever I post anything anywhere I tend to forget the odds that someone some time may actually look - and be offended by something like this. I'll pull the pic and post a link to it as you request.

Thanks, Robbie! No one's said anything else, so I guess I'll keep on keepin' on with it, then.

I'm wondering if I should use my "in between contract" moment to make an animation for the 10 years of the Volet... Might also put it in my portfolio even if it means the possible employers going " Errrr.. that didn't make sense".
The Volet
