All I can say is "Why?"

So the Family Circus, that should be a movie right

It makes even less sense than the Marmaduke movie.

I'm confused, and I'm not even one of the many people who vehemently hates Family Circus.

I think this is gonna be awesome. I wish it stays as close to original comic as possible.

That would almost be kinda cool. Filmed in a circle parameter and such, with subtitles underneath. Would work best as a silent film though.

They'll have tough luck finding enough actors that only have one nostril.

It's hard work for one-nostriled actors to find gigs. This will be their lucky break.

To be fair to the strip, there is already an established movie genre that deals with mindless and unfunny "ain't that tyke cute!" narrative. As far as I can tell, Family Circus will fit in seamlessly. It probably should've gotten a Hollywood deal twenty years ago. As long as they don't try to over-complicate the storyline, and stick to the brats being fauxdorable, then it shouldn't be too offensive.

Now there's no need to be sarcastic. I was thinking more of, keeping the narrative structure of the original. But they'll probably want to spoil it with a storyline about orphanage and whatnot, like Marmaduke.

Joking aside, where will they find that many pairs of twins?

There is no bottom. Hollywood is only at comics, they haven't reached webcomics, doujinshi games, fanfix or lolcats.

They aren't much worse than cartoon shows based on greeting cards or shirts, cartoons which for some reason still didn't get their live action remake, but I'm patient. Hollywood is at constant state of rock bottom ever since the beginning.

I'd watch the Lolcatz movie before this.

Seriously, a film based on some steamy piece of fanfic looks promising.

From what I've seen in recent(as in from a ear ago) comedies, a movie based on Lolcats wouldn't be overly crude in comparison... I think it could be quite entertaining too if they stick with making the movie about the lolcats and not about the origin of them like that Facebook movie. I mean, as much as I want to know how it got started I just don't want to watch an hour and a half of internet epiphany.

A movie based on Family Circus on the other hand... I can't see them keeping it the same, its probably going to have some ridiculous plot thrown in for drama, but either way I'm probably never going to see it. I don't see too many movies and their usually old by the time I do :( , so I try to pick things I'm REALLY interested in when I get chances and this doesn't look like it would be.

They're making 'Battleship' ....from the board game. At least this actually has characters to develop from.

By "they" I mean Hollywood. and by "board game" I mean, they're making a freaking movie based off a board game.

I know what you're saying, you're saying "Pirates of the Caribbean was based off of a ride, and that was pretty good."
to which I reply "Shut up."

Battleship has characters? Did I play a mysteriously different game than you, because the only characters I remember were the ships. I swear, if they make the submarine the comic relief then I will have to start sinking some movie studios.
