"There's a wonderful and exciting world out there when we realize that we don't need TV to entertain us."
"Huh huh huh, he said 'anus.'"
"Entertain us, anus. Yeah."
"Have you boys heard a word I've said?"
"Uhhh... yeah, anus."
"Yeah, heh heh yeah I heard it too."

You're getting good, MixedMyth.
Here's a few more cartoony sketches. I'm astounded at how out of practice I feel when it comes to cartooning.

Doodlin's. (Characters from a ridiculous story that we joke about writing with our friend Jillian.)

For some reason I'm getting a little uncanny valley vibe from Tate there, but looking at the full panel sketch I suspect it's partly because it's just a headshot.
What is your sexy new comic about, may I ask?

Anna and Tate are upstart heroes, looking to make names for themselves. They form a partnership, and bumble their way to the attentions of a bored princess, who wants a life of adventure. The princess conscripts them to become her escorts into the wilderness. Naturally, the princess' father decides she's been kidnapped, and sends the kingdom to retrieve her, and hijinks ensue. Along the way, the group picks up new additions, they meet all sorts of interesting people and creatures, and there's all sorts of debauchery.
It's going to be a light-hearted affair, focusing on comedy and nudity, rather than grimness and gore. Honestly, so far, it's the most fun I've had drawing in a long time.

Since I'm on Spring Break I thought I'd take some time to try to paint something. Since I don't have the right place for oil painting I thought I'd try acrylic, which I've never painted with before. It was hard to adjust to the drying time but it was also a good thing since I had only my tiny room to paint in. It's just the Partners statue at Disney World, but I found a great picture of it online and just had to paint it.

They do kinda look like characters from Thunderbirds.Tellurider wrote:For some reason I'm getting a little uncanny valley vibe from Tate there, but looking at the full panel sketch I suspect it's partly because it's just a headshot.

Very well done, MV! Like the shading. But...I keep getting this image of Mickey there turning his head to look over his shoulder but instead of his face there's this gruesome grinning skull...

Clearly our mousey lord and master is trying to tell you you need to spend more time and money on the great empire.MixedMyth wrote:Very well done, MV! Like the shading. Rescue.

I figure Rock Band is mainstream enough for most people to get this.

Is it that they're playing Rock Band? I get that they're playing Rock Band. Man, I hope I'm not too stupid to get this. Sweet cartoon, by the way. Looks great.

Nah the dude rocking out just rescued the other guy. If one person is sucking and falls out, another player can bring them back into the game by earning and using whatever the rock-out bonus is called. I know this because I keep being the grateful guy in the background.Bustertheclown wrote:Is it that they're playing Rock Band? I get that they're playing Rock Band. Yeah, I'm usually pretty proficient at RB as long as I stay on medium. But then my friends start goading me onto trying hard (or god forbid, expert). It always ends in my fingers trying to bend in ways they weren't meant to bend.
Also, what the hell is this? I didn't wait until the last possible minute to do my submission and instead did it the first day? Oh Dip!

The topic was "Dip," btw
<_<
Yeah, now I want potato chips.
