Any Secret Santa comic swaps out there?

Post by [geoduck] »

I always enjoy signing up with a webcomic Secret Santa swap each year, but there don't seem to be any on tap for '09. Anyone know of any?

If we don't see any shape up by Thanksgiving, I'd be willing to help organize one here.

I wanted to wait until after Halloween to announce mine. Funny that you were asking about these while I was waiting to post! XD

It took me a while to realize that noscript was blocking the comment box. *facepalms*

But yeah, count me in. These things are always fun.

That is a problem. {sigh} I did not want to post my address publicly, but I did as a work-around for those using browsers with noscript add-ons.

Thanks for letting me know about that potential registration hurdle for the Web Comic Secret Santa Exchange 2009!

Aw. :( I only have 12 comics up. But I have about 15+ in buffer waiting to update (at 3 updates per week).

No exception to that rule? I've done SS stuff before. Maybe I can wait a few weeks to sign up... I think by deadline I'll have 20 updates up.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as Kris X. Fourteen interior pages are archived, and I've got the rest of the first issue queued up online in my workspace folder, updating twice weekly, so it will come out just before the deadline. Half of the second issue is loaded up as well and that should come out all through December.

If the postcard thing I read about earlier is any indication, this is the kind of thing that fills up pretty quickly, yes? Or should we newbies sign up that first week of December and expect to get paired up with someone?

Yeah, at the rate I'm going, I'll probably end up being one of the safety net babies. Pages are slow-going right now as a result of The Month of a Million Due Dates.

I would sign up with my old band geeks one, but I don't even draw that comic anymore and I'd feel bad for the person that had to make the secret santa for it.

Hmmm. I shall have to ponder this.

HAHA! Crud I liked the sound of this, but le sigh my lazzy butt hasn't made an update in 9 months. That and most of my pages are indeed random filler doodles >.<
I hope your not expecting me to make a joke not related to ninjas, pirates, Jesus, cyborgs, or a combination of all of those.

What if the entire premise of your online comic is that it's random filler which is sporadically updated? It all seems a bit preclusive to me.

YOU'RE preclusive!

I suppose the idea is that unless you have a nice size archive, it's pretty difficult for a person to make a thing for you because they can't get a good grasp of your work yet. Or somethin'. I'd say so long as you have a meaty handful you're probably alright, rather than it being the updating frequency.

I concur but I personally don't think I'm cool enough to participate in this event. I'm still trying to structure out my webcomic, but I am totally interested in what comes out of this Secret Santa swap.

Yo, do we want to throw a swap here on Comic Genesis like we always do, you know, in addittion to this one?

I'll run it again if no one else wants to take a crack at it.
