My mom knew a guy who'd had something happen to him where he could only taste vanilla (or smell, either, I suppose).

As I understand it, being a super-taster actually has survival benefit; bitter usually indicates something which should not being eaten.Terotrous wrote:That's like the worst super power ever.BionicDance wrote:As a super-taster, I can detect bitterness in foods which other people can't. Anything even the tiniest smidge bitter might as well be a mouthful of driveway gravel

Wearing a T-shirt with the "New" food chain I drew is quite fun! (carrot, bunny, human, zombie)

I got the results of my test in cognitive neuroscience from last week. I thought that I was going to completely bomb, but I got an 87.5! It was the first B I've ever cheered for.

The first five hours of this day were pretty lame, but then it was like People Who Care About VCC Day. Everyone was very nice and cordial and complimentary, which hasn't happened in a while. Methinks I shall even finish tomorrow's homework- tonight!

Re: What made YOU happy today?
I'm trying out as an extra in a horror film. also next week I get to give blood for a vegan study at USC.
Re: What made YOU happy today?
yay's all around.
I had to attend some sort of education related meeting for class so they had a regional rep for NEA come in and talk to my class. They offered free membership for the first 15 people. I thought they'd get mobbed once they said to line up since student membership is only $20 per year and it offers a good liability insurance plan which most states require to student teach or even observe(Louisiana doesn't for whatever reason but hey it's a good idea). Turns out I was wrong and everyone just flew out of the room when it was over so me and my friend both scored free memberships for the year and that's me covered till I graduate!

I've accomplished so much in the past few days, I'm feeling extra good for no reason.
