09/27/2009 EDIT: My pog has been accepted, but not my Chan yet. But I think it's still to be considered. Do you get notified if either your Pog or Chan get rejected?

08/12/2009 EDIT: Still haven't been accepted.

I've uploaded mine back in March of this year and there's still a "No" on their status. So my question is how long do these things usually take to be approved?

The short answer is "a while".

The long answer is that there appears to be a reduced level of activity on the part of the committee that approves the Pog and banner images. I'll chase this up with the admin staff as approvals are supposed to take two or three weeks, not two or three months.

Ditto on this. I know we're getting exactly what we pay for, but I have stuff pending from February and May.

At the least, it'd be nice to have some kind of status report or information, even if it's just "Nobody wants to do the work."

Yes, mine have not been admitted either. I have a few that have been uploaded since the beginning of the month. I have already collected nearly $100 dollars for advertising. I hope to get it going soon.

Advertising on Comic Genesis. When you say that you've "uploaded a few already" I hope you mean that you were not happy with the banner you made yourself for you own comic and you tried to replace it with a new version. Not that you collected banners for other sites to advertise and that you uploaded those to the CG system...

haha yes, I could see how my post was hard to understand.

I have collected, via donations, $100 that I will spend to promote MY comic. I of course, need the banners approved before I can spend it at certain sites.

I don't know what happened, but I went through and approved a buttload of images that were pending.

WHAT WAS APPROVED
--Any and all newsboxes and banners that were the appropriate sizes.
--Any and all pogs that had the proper transparency on them.

WHAT WAS DELETED
--Any and all newboxes and banners that were not the appropriate size. There weren't a lot, but there were a few that had the wrong dimensions.
--Any and all pogs that did not have the proper transparency on them. There were still some that had white around the edges, those got deleted.
--One or two images were in the Genchan format, but weren't of Genchan at all. Those were deleted.

WHAT'S STILL PENDING APPROVAL
--Genchans. Those will still be done by group approval.

If your image was deleted and you don't know why, don't PM me, please! There's resources available to find out all this stuff, how to make your transparencies work, etc.

I used to have a pog and it doesn't seem to be in rotation anymore... I just started updating my comic after a 2 year hiatus, mind you, but I was wondering if I need to re-upload or if maybe I was just unfortunate enough to not see it appear after the 50-or-so pageloads I tried?

Pogs and newsboxes don't show up if your comic hasn't updated in the past 7 days. So, depending on when you looked, that's one reason for it.

If you don't see it in your little uploaded images section then it might have been eaten by the server or something. Reupload it, if that's the case.

...still not seeing it and I've updated 2 times in the last 9 days. Where do I find the uploaded images section? Is that in my ftp folder somewhere? Last time I thought I uploaded it via the surveyadmin tool, which doesn't seem to be working presently...

If a pog gets rejected just assume there was something wrong with how the image was saved: white bits or completely white outside the circle, not using the template, etc. We used to PM people when they were rejected but there's so many now I just can't do that.

Genchans take more time to be reviewed by a panel, and since they aren't used in advertising they've been pushed back to being dealt with later.
