Cookout 2009 Info needed!

Post by Americangothic »

We need to know if Cookout should be the weekend of June 6th, or the weekend of June 13th!

Please post your comments and recommendations here as soon as possible! We will be looking for a new venue this year.

Thank you!

Both dates are fine with me!

At this point, both dates work for Beth and I.

Either of those dates are fine for me. Stinky's still not coming around on this one, so maybe I could convince Skunkadoo to come with me.

Since I'm not yet sure that I'll even be able to go, whichever date'll be fine by me as well.

Either weekend works for me at this point. By new venue, do you mean same city but different place, or different city AND place? I just hope it doesn't get shifted to something like LA.

It's looking like Nashville this year. It's centrally located and for some folks, the cost of flights is cheaper.

I'm fairly sure if it was a different city it'd be a new place too

Assuming I don't flake, I don't have anything scheduled for either weekend.

After spending the entire day driving around Nashville looking at hotels and meeting spaces, it's looking like the weekend of June 5-6th is the way to go.

The weekend of the 12 and 13th is Nashville's big country music festival "Fan Fair" and ALL hotels are already booked pretty solid. Some are even sold out. http://www.cmafest.com/2009/

Monday the managers of several hotels and conference centers will be calling back about the fee structures-- so details will be coming very soon!!

Thanks for handling the Cookout this year, AG! I'm hoping Vort and I will be able to make it, as long as Vort has enough vacation time left. Looking forward to seeing everyone :D

Aggie's handling the cookout this year? O_o

In Nashville?

There goes the name SLCC... maybe "Comic Genesis Cookout Gathering" (CGCG) will be better suited.

yeah.. fraid so! Last cookout, Reinder and I had offered to help out to Beth, and she took me up on it. Called me a few days ago. I'm really glad we can be of service. By Wednesday we should know where it'll be at and we'll pay the deposits etc.

The place we're hoping for allows people to bring in their own food and catering, and they even provide a grill. Lissa and Polerin have been fantastic about getting info on Neely's BBQ catering and we're looking at renting a 12 passenger van for the weekend so we have better transportation for folks. So far, everything is coming together pretty good. By Wednesday we should have all the details to pass on to Aura for the website etc. :D

We will need an alternative location for the traditional Adult Store Run then.

It was the Saint Louis Comic Cookout for five years. But with us having to move shortly after the cookout, and baby Tristan, we just haven't had the time to plan it. Aggie graciously offered to do it this year.

It'll be fun to be a guest for a change. :D

Barring any incident, Skunkadoo and I are officially coming. Stinky may or may not be with us, but we'll be there.
