Walter's betrayal

Post by Mobius Soul »

So, Walter's currently being hostaged into some kind of betrayal in Shine continuity, okay. But I just got hold of tankubon volumes 8 and 9 (HUGE SPOILER approaching, if it matters). So suddenly it turns out Walter was working for the nazis all along. Did that unhappen in Shine? If it's still in Erin's continuity why do the nazis need a further hold on him? And is there a bomb in the Jackal or not?

The "Walter was a traitor all along!" plot twist was stupid. Therefore, in Shine continuity, it didn't happen. Shine!Walter was a wholehearted Good Guy, unambiguously faithful to Integra and with no other pull on his loyalties, until just a few strips ago.

(Alternate continuities, how we love them!)

A tankubon is the japanese word (and therefore somewhat pretentious for an american to use, yes, okay) for the standard manga graphic novel publishing format--IE a ~1.5cm-thick book with several chapters of a given manga in it.
