Hi Steve,<P>Wow! I just read the comic - beginning to end, and I love it! It's quite witty. It reminds me of my comics hahaha...<P>I like your style and the colouring and backgounds are done so well it's not funny.<P>Keep up the good work!!<P>MikeY<P>------------------

How, exactly, do you do the photo backgrounds? Elaine said that you did it in Photoshop, which would certainly explain why they're such a pain - but they look absolutely spectacular. It's actually a little unnerving sometimes how well the characters drawn in seem to match their surroundings. Surreal, man...

Thank you! The photo's are a pain but I like the effect, even in priint surprisingly enough. I'm considering selling the print versions online too, somehow... but that's still just an idea.I just took a trip to New York and got some nice photo's there that I might incorporate into the strip, too!

Yeah... it's Photoshop. I wish I had Photoshop... although with my crappy processor, if I tried to run it, the motherboard would burst out of my computer, decapitate my roommate while flying across the room, and then blow up. <P>Please. Donate a computer, preferably one with a DVD player, a Pentium III processor, and lots of other neat stuff to the Lazy College Cartoonists' Fund. You know you want to help.<P>**This has been a public service announcement**

Hey! What kind of pl;ace do you think I run? Just kidding, babe, good luck to you with that.<P>As for the backgrounds, the dea that sparked it all was to use my digital camera, but I learned that while it would look alright on the site, it wouldnt translate to print at all because they're at such a low resolution. So what I ended up doing (much to miss elaine's dismay) is start taking pictures of everywhere I went. So I develop, scan them as I use them, and build the archive. Then I scan my cartoon (using rough sketches of how the background pictures should look) and edit the photo's on a "multiply" layer so I can still see the black lines through it. Then I color on the multiply later (keeping the color layer seperate from the art layer so I can still translate it to black and white bitmap for the print version.) At this rate, I can draw up to 4-6 strips in a day, but I can only color 1 or if I'm lucky 2 per night. <P>It's hectic, but hoefully all this work will be noticed and I can dominate the world soon. Keep your fingers crossed! Or you'll be the first to go.... mwa ha ha (meant to think that) right I'm rambling nopw- I'm outtee!<P>~Steve<P>

Hey, I know a few people from UCONN. I just don't remember their full names. Okay, so I don't really know them, but my girlfriend does. She's from Connecticut. And she has a lot of friends at UCONN. Um....That's all I have to say about that.<P>Pauly<P>------------------

^_^ yeah, I wouldn't know any of them unless they lived in the Towers Complex or were Art majors. Even then, it's a long shot. I have like 4 friends here (JJ, Eliot, Joe and Amy!!! I'm talking to you!!!!) and I haven't really branched out. BTW, several of Steve's background photos were taken at UConn. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin.gif">

Performance-enhancing drugs???? Hand some over here. Oh wait, unless you're talking about "male performance." In which case, by all means, don't. But, due to my final exam situation, I so desperately need to eliminate sleep from my regimen, thus freeing up about 9 hours per day, in which I could study, or in extreme cases, watch Mystery Science Theater 3000. I'm aiming to eliminate other basic bodily functions from my life in order to have even more time to study for finals. I figure if I stop eating, that would get rid of the functions of both consumption AND elimination... thus saving me up to an additional 2 hours a day. That's a whole Art History chapter!!! However, it would also cause extreme discomfort, and I would probably die before my 18th birthday. Goddamn these @$#!* finals.
