Good to hear from you, RedWolf (are we related? elsewhere I go as RedFox :p).

That's me.
I've tried registering twice now, under two different e-mail addresses (since the first also rejected my forum activation, the second accepted it); neither time have I received a validation e-mail. Could one be sent to me? Then I'll gladly wait out the week+ for a password.
STrRedWolf wrote:I'm seeing folks not being rather clear, so I've edited the first post here. I'm only asking for folks who cannot verify their signups. If you did verify your entry, then you need to wait that 7-10 days for the password email -- this is an anti-spam requirement, alas.
Note that the biggest problem that I have seen is that people sign up, get the confirmation email, confirm, wait seven days and then they don't get the seventh day email. That's the step that has been falling down for about two weeks.
Also, bear in mind that there is some confusion for new members as the seventh day email no longer brings a password with it. I don't recall if it specifically states how to go and get a password (instructions in the WIki) but I do know that I did not get around to documenting this adjustment in the Wiki so new users might be getting confused by getting the seventh day email telling them the url for their comic but not having a password in it.
After going through the rest of the posts, I believe I am, in fact, supposed to be here. (It's been so long since I did this, I wasn't sure how the process works anymore.)

I appreciate the efforts you guys put into this place - I remember you (Kisai and STrRedWolf) from when I started, many years ago. Thanks for your brain-power and your patience and your time and labor in making this a rewarding and successful venue for fledgling webcomic creators around the world.

That's what I'm saying, I've waited 9 days and still no 7th day e-mail, I've even checked the url where my comic would supposedly be, but that's still a 404 error. I understand that if the site is up I could get my own password through the wiki or w/e but it's not up. Whats the point in solving the problem where a new user gets the verification e-mail but nothing happens past that? All you end up with is a bunch of verified e-mail accounts and no new comics...
After re-reading the clarifications, this is the thread for me, but I might not have been as clear as I should have been in my first posts.
Username: somethingcomic Date: 9/11/08 ISP: Unknown for the moment - I'm on a University network and I'm not positive where the Internet service is coming from - I'm waiting on an email from the IT people to confirm. Verification email? Yes - I entered my code but nothing happens. I have tried entering it a few times since then, and nothing has worked. My page is NOT active - I only get a 404 Error when I attempt to check it.
Anyway, good to hear from you, Str, and I'm sorry to hear that there's been trouble on the home front. Hope that works out for you...
I have not received an e-mail verification when I submitted my webcomic info. I also previously attempted to join, activated and didn't get the 2nd e-mail back. So I reapplied.

Okay, I resubmitted my stuff as well, 7 days ago, and got the first email and did the code stuff. I might just be being impatient, but my page is a 404 error so that worried me.
Hey this is Steve and Chris from The Big Day Comic. We sent in an application a few hours ago and still haven't received the e-mail. Just wanted to make sure nothing went wrong.
the comic name is: The Big Day
isp is: verizon
and like I said we signed up today.
steve (stephen hilger) is credited as the main creator on the application is that clears things up. i also may have misspelled the e-mail which is causnephekt@gmail.com
Not trying to hurry you or anything, but its been 12 days guys... I'm pretty sure that shows there is a problem...lol
I checked the url for the site and nope...still 404 error.
If you're not sure how soon this will get up and running could you give me a recommendation for some temporary hosting because I would like to get the ball rolling. I fully intend to join comicgenesis, but I want to at least get some reviews and a small fanbase while you guys sort this out...Thanks.
Hi I'm the writing half for this webcomic and my artist and I have both tried getting this to work, but it has been 12 days since we put in the activation code and nothing has come back in return.

Thanks!
Same here. I asked around and it turns out that my university is its own ISP. If you're at a major (or otherwise large) university, chances are pretty good that you've got the same situation. Might want to email your university's IT people and find out.
I still haven't gotten the confirmation for my new comic, although I now wish I hadn't signed up using Hotmail. I can provide a different e-mail address if need be.
I still haven't gotten a verification email for my comic, and it's been 17 days. It says that comics that haven't been verified within 14 days are deleted, but I tried to reapply and was told that I have accounts pending.
