Four men walk into a gambling den one evening, and spend the whole night playing together. (No, not that way. -_-) They don't allow anyone else to sit in with them. At the end of the night, they pick up, leave -- and each one of them has more money than he came in with. How is this possible?

You asked how the scenario is possible, not what actually happened in the fictional scenario you imagined. That is, an answer that does not match the answer in your head can still be correct. How does my answer NOT explain how the scenario is possible?

Busthertheclown: It is in the nature of riddling these days for people to do that. ^^ In ancient times, people used to accept there was only one suitable answer to a riddle, but those times are gone.

Sexy_fork: Sorry, but the currency value did not increase overnight. And as I said, they had more money at the end of the evening. As in quantity.
