scary stuff
The Frontiersman ran blistering editorials, condemning Palin's philosophy "that either we are with her or against her."
Hey, that sounds surprisingly like another politician I know of...

If I could be an American politician I'd be a Republican.

Those guys can do whatever the hell they like and still keep their jobs.

Ugh, I don't like The Frontiersman. :( Its editorials are pretty good when it comes to local issues, though. Really, I guess I just find it stale? *shrug*

Yeah, and he got impeached.

I don't know how Palin is even allowed to see the light of day considering what's following her around. Oh wait, forgot, RNC ISN'T allowing her to see the light of day, or the press, anyway.

Sure, but it does make the point that McCain's tenure in office (or his premature death and Palin's tenure in office) will be more of the same divisiveness that we had under Bush. Either McCain lacks the spine or power to stand up to the Busheviks in the GOP, or he's really bad at picking VP candidates (considering that Palin fought for the Bridge to Nowhere while McCain fought against it, though now she says otherwise).

a politics thread? hooray!

...yup.

it's hard to debate when you pretty much agree with everything everyone else said. things were more fun a few years ago when Bush was fucking god.

yes, in either way of reading that emphasis.

all I gotta say, I was on the fence until the Veeps came out. Biden, whose worked with the humane society (supported endorsed legislation 75% in 07, and 80% in 05-06), and has voted time and time again for assisting exotic and endangered animals. verse Pallin whose gives pilots money for going over quota on aerial gunning of wolves. yeah... its a hard choice.

The sad thing is that even if McCain ate a baby live on TV, they'd somehow be able to spin it in such a way as to make the voting public think it was a good thing and not in any way contradictory to their pro-life message.

you gotta be careful of those babies, if you don't bite their heads off first, they'll bite yours.

It's more Palin then McCain who's made of teflon. Effectively she's the top billing, she's the one they're excited about.

Read some of the transcripts from her ABC interview. And yeah, she has no idea what the Bush Doctrine is.

Horrifying candidate.

I read that the McCain campaign is now running an ad saying Palin was against "the bridge to nowhere", when in fact she was for it, and the project was stopped by Congress. Are the US media picking up on this sort of thing?

Yes, but nobody cares.

Mother fucker said it herself at the convention, just an unabashed, bald-faced, liar.

edit/ Also, for those that don't know, SHE TOOK THE MONEY. She just spent it on something else when the controversy hit. Unbelievable Orwellian feat here.

I hear Roman Abramovich the former governor of Chukotka is going to challenge Medvedev in the nest Russian presidential election. His foreign policy credentials are fantastic! He lived right next to Alaska!

My dear, there's a situation where I'd root for Medvedev.

I'm not a fan of SNL, but it was very funny tonight apparently. Tina Fey and Amy Poeler? teamed up to play Palin and Clinton. Hilarity.
