Aww, come on. At their probable level, they should be able to take an owlbear.

As an admitted compulsive looter and pack rat, I must say that I LOVE games where the GM doesn't bother with encumbrance.

I had a tree climbing sniper who carried a 10 ft pole while leaping from branch to branch. Never got called on it. I just mention that I'm setting down my stuff here and there and the DM never even checked.

Sure it detracts from the realism and immersement of the game, but if he's not gonna think about it why should I?
Nobody complains about realism when you characters never poop.

When it comes to "generic adventuring gear" my group uses the classic PC Adventure game approach and pretends you have your own private pocket dimension.

One of these days I'll have to actually make a character who has an enormous buff coat in which he can store a St. Bernard...

Might have worked better if she didn't call out 'Sneak Attack!!' beforehand.

Good catch on the flying pig, I didn't even notice that at first!

Lol, and what self respecting half orc would only have the strength 18, any barbarian would be lvl 20! (see sig :p)
one lvl barbarian, rest lvl wizard. Str 20, int 18. Spell book in one hand, greataxe in other.
I mean really? Is there a better half orc?

I totally missed that. Mark-the-barbarian does have a 20 strength, unless Joel made him tone it down.

Then the deer call the cops and get restraining orders. :C
