Survival Tips For Growing Up In A Large Family

A place for people to discuss and constructively criticize my comics. Of course there’ll also be a place for off topic chit-chat, and a place for other webcomic artist to talk about what’s going on with their own stuff.

Oh, I know! I haven't tried looking for good supersoakers, but, I tried finding some decent nerf guns not long ago and it took so long to find a decent one. And then I realized I don't have anyone to actually play nerf guns with, heh.

That's no fun... having someone to function as a moving target is probably one of the main reasons why my younger siblings still exist. :D

Haha. Well, my younger brother lives with his father on the other corner of the country, and there's a huge age gap between myself and my sister, plus I don't think my mother would be pleased if I shot her daughter with anything, no matter how harmless.

I've thought about using it on the cats when they misbehave. Less to clean up than a spray bottle with water.

That could be funny... but I think my cats would shred the nerf darts. Insofar as your siblings, what is a huge age gap? Mine are 7 years younger than me and we still have fun, but they know there's a rule on no whining if you get hurt.

Yea, I guess that is a pretty big age gap. Younger siblings can be useful, but then again, they can also be so irritating. Both of my younger brothers are hitting that teenage stage where they have to look cool all the time.... so as their older sister, it is my duty to embarrass them (which is surprisingly easy).

It seemed like a good idea...

I can almost hear the "Ha haa!" coming from the window!

I was listening to "Focus on the Family" the other day, and apparently, the last section of our brains to develop physically are our frontal lobes. This chunk of brain typically houses the area where we learn to consider the long term consequences of our actions. Most of the time this area doesn't really develop until we are well into our teen years, and sometimes as late as our twenties.

In short, to quote Bill Cosby - "All children are brain damaged!" =^^=

Which is why parental guidance is so important as children honestly will not be able to consider the long term repercussions of their actions.

I love Bill Cosby. The model of the wholesome comedian.

It's easy to believe that the "repercussions" part of your brain is the last to develop. I had stitches four times before I was thirteen.

Thanks Tbolt, always good to hear from you even if I don't get around to responding till much later.

My mom and I use lines from Bill Cosby quite frequently when dealing with my younger siblings... especially the instructions on bathing. What is it with young boys and not wanting to bathe?

Well my profile has a link to my DeviantART site, but I haven't posted anything new in awhile. By the way, apparently you're also one my myspace friends, so you can look at my pictures there too.

If you look on the first page of the thread, he says he has two brothers and a sister.

True. My family consisted of my mom, myself and three brothers. The upside was that as the only girl, I always got my own room.

Hello everyone, sorry I haven’t posted any responses for a while. I have no real excuses for why I haven’t been posting responses. I’ve just been lazy about it. But, you can be sure that I do read all of your post everyday, so please keep them coming, and I’ll try to start getting on here more often.

Also I was wandering what all of you thought of my banner idea posted on 5/22/08.

I like it... it's cute and different from the other banners I've seen.
