They're around if you can catch them. For some reason, they vanish fast. You know... Hair today, gone tomorrow.

I made a coloring tutorial recently. It's not huge, but it's on coloring and shading in photoshop, with an emphasis on various and multiple light sources. http://jaadrih.comicgenesis.com/gallery/tutorial.html

I made a tutorial a little while ago... It shows how to draw the head, and it includes the hair (sort of):

I did a tutorial that goes through how to color, shade, and highlight a while back, and this looks like a good place to plunk it down :)

Is there anybody who knows of a tutorial that teaches you how to do cell shading WITHOUT the pen tool? I've only got photoshop elements 3, so I don't have that tool.

You can use the polygon lasso tool (which is what I use). Just make the shape (places where you want to shade to go) then fill it in with the paint bucket or "edit">"fill".

This is the "how to make a M&B strip" tutorial. The thing is, it's in Portuguese :P

Well, you may see the pictures anyway :P

I made a coloring/digital inking tutorial: http://warofwinds.com/zenshid1.htm

It's based off my latest wallpaper, which was the first piece I did purely on the tablet (wacom intuos 3 6x11). It's cell-shading and shortcuts and tricks and the like.

This thread makes me a very happy person. A lot of good stuff that'll help me with my digital drawing skills. Haven't seen one but is there anything that shows how to simulate realistic inking digitally? I'd really like to know as I am in dire need of something like this...

Does anyone know where I could find a good tutorial for drawing manga/anime style? Focusing mainly on the actual characters being drawn, how to draw clothes nice, all of that? I'm working on that stuff, but practice is only good for so long before you need a guide...

I recommend going to Barnes & Noble and browsing all the different Manga-drawing books. There are tons of them, and you can look for one that emphasizes the elements you need help with. I have How to draw Manga vol. 4: Dressing your characters in casual wear, which is very helpful with wrinkles. I also just like to buy manga and practice copying the pictures. Most drawing how-tos are mostly useful for copying anyway, and if you can find the same elements to copy from the actual art, I find it works just as well.

Anyway, I really came down here to tell everyone I wrote an article/some tutorials on some basic techniques for editing and coloring images. It includes a basic overview of the GIMP for beginners. If you know more than me you could comment on it.

Here: http://knol.google.com/k/irene-pitcairn ... oqmrgim/2#

I'm not sure if it'll get out to the beginners who need it, but it might.

I've heard of that series, and that it's pretty good, but I still would like to see if I could find something online rather then have to go buy a book...
Oh, yeah, and does anyone here know where I can download GIMP?

Hey, could anyone here direct me to a good Backgrounds tutorial? The more detailed and varied, the better. Also, anyone know of any tutorials on drawing machinery/robots/vehicles?
