The problem with using chinese in e-mail is that the coding can mess up by simply using different e-mail packages. I have the same problem with sending e-mail between Netscape Messager and Microsoft Outlook and the coding are all messed up. A safer bet if you must send an e-mail in chinese would be to write the message in simple text format or in html coding and attach the file with the e-mail. This should solve the problem.
