I went to my hometown yesterday. My childhood home is trashed. The bank owns it and hasn't kept it up. Fence and pool is destoyed. The tree with the old treehouse is laying in a ditch. And so on. We put so much into it and it's just sad to see this. Amazing to see how things go to shit in 10 years.

Only positive thing is I that got to see my best friend from high school. We went out to dinner. Last time I saw her was my wedding, nearly 4 years ago.

Also I learned today that the four hours I spent on unnecessary coding at work was not unnecessary at all!

I spent the day in Harrison today, after dropping off a friend. Discovered that I love playing King Dedede in SSBB, and also that things aren't as awkward between myself and a friend (we'd been mad at one another) as they were last time I saw him, two weeks ago...even though we still haven't gotten to talk things through yet and really make up...(the man's freaking impossible to catch on his own). Plus, I switched days with a co-worker so that I can go back down there tomorrow and go see the play he's in, with 3 of our other friends! Can't wait! And I'll probably go visit my parents, my cat, and the neighbors horse who lives in their field too!

Eve, we have a wonderful collection of stories about a town called Schildburg. The inhabitants were so intelligent and wise, that everyone from near and far would come and ask them for advice. The Schildburgers got so tired of this that they began to pretend they were stupid and foolish, and it worked: No one bothered them anymore. Unfortunately for them, it worked too well, and they actually became stupid.

So the moral of that story is: If you keep saying to yourself that you are something you're not (in this case ugly), someday you'll believe it so much it becomes true.

Ha but I found the charger for my camera battery (I can't believe it was in a box on my desk the whole damn time, I am a double tard) so I'll get some pictures if I can.
And if I get up to Mom's at any point I'll have a picture to take... lego-helmet cat has gotten so massive she's having trouble walking and can no longer jump. Poor grumpy, funny, fat old cat. Hee.

so, I'm looking at changing careers. getting my class 3 license (heavy machinery w/ air breaks) and joining the road crew working on the new highway project. Pays a hell of a lot better than my current job and I already know the boss and most of his crew
