PHPBB 3. [solved]

Post by Shishio »

How is it?

I need to set up some forums soon, and I have always used PHPBB, but the spam problem has gotten way out of control. Is three more secure, or would I better off using some other software?

Also, does the latest version of PHPBB have a captcha system built in?

it has the captcha system built in but I have 4 emails in my inbox where people are saying they are getting a red X instead of the captcha

I don't know how to replicate this. Suffice it to say, phpBB3 is a lot easier to delete stuff.

Apparently by default, the gzip/deflate apache plugins treat images as text files if they do not end in .png/.jpeg./jpg/.gif , that explains the captcha issue, and likely explains why the siteadmin isn't showing images for stats, I'll get around to fixing the latter when I have time. The captcha is fixed.
