I kind of wanted to see an official impeachment proceedings just because I think resigning is always a copout, but on the plus side Paterson seems to be an ok guy. maybe we'll actually see something happen here in Albany!

I think she meant to close these two and start a new one?Pimpette wrote:If you kill the happy/unhappy threads, OT will be plagued with dozens of lj-like threads again. Man, it was a hell of a week to be a New Yorker, Spitzer just made me unhappy >__<What erked me the most was the fact that he dishonoured his wife by callously breaking the vows that he made with her.grabmygoblin wrote:I thought it came out of his private expensesphact0rri wrote:what bothered me was that he spent a crapload of taxpayers dollars on his 'flings'grabmygoblin wrote: the prostitution didn't bother nearly as much as the fact that he prosecuted people for similar and lesser offenses. ethical breeches don't get much more dramatic and extreme than that!!

yeah, that bothered me, but he's human... it's not like entering politics makes you invulnerable to the usual poor judgement people have with relationships.Isukiyomi wrote:Man, it was a hell of a week to be a New Yorker, Spitzer just made me unhappy >__<What erked me the most was the fact that he dishonoured his wife by callously breaking the vows that he made with her.people wrote: prostitution and Spitzer etc
best commentary I thought
I searched for ages looking for John Oliver's "Inside Albany" show after this segment

Thanks for the hugs, guys.
Yeah, I'm being incredibly realistic about it. It's best this way and some time just needs to go by.

On the up side, the warranty should still be valid. Is the computer screwed up or the harddrive?mvmarcz wrote:my laptop that i've only had a month had some sort of freak accident and is dead

Re: Revenge of the unhappy thread.
I think I might be about to flunk out.
edit: ok, I had a chance to catch my breath and get that lump out of my throat. I was handed back a 75 on a midterm. if you don't know, C is the lowest grade you can get in grad school and still pass (at least at my school) so understandably I was panicky... then I had to give a presentation, at the end of which I was informed that I'd done all my research on the wrong topic and needed to redo it. I might have caught onto this beforehand and fixed it, except that the 3 people who were supposed to go before dropped to 1, who went 5 minutes before me.
so yeah, I was pretty upset.
then I had to make a quick presentation in my next class on this wiki page I made, but I was tired and nervous so I couldn't stop stuttering.
not my best day.
but I'm feeling better because the 75 calculates out to a B or B-... not fantastic, but not a complete meltdown, I'll just redo the presentation, and the wiki presentation didn't count for much.
still, I really wish I could get piss drunk. another midterm tomorrow though, so I'll just have to find consolation in.... Joeseph Rykwert's "The Seduction of Place"?! AWW FUCK NOT THIS BOOK AGAIN, I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD OF IT THE FIRST THREE TIMES I READ IT!!
I need a hug
