Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
I go through phases where I eat a LOT of certain kinds of food. I dunno if it's because my body is making me stock up on something that I'm lacking or what, but all last week, for dinner, I ate nothing but a ton of salad, celery, tomatoes, carrots and cucumber slices. and then between that, I craved nothing but Indian food (and still am craving it).

I do that too. Sometimes it's salad like that, sometimes it's potatoes...etc, etc.

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
I'm eccentric because when my last arthritic flareup was at its worst, I actually very seriously contemplated buying a cane. imagine that. a twenty-six-year-old hobbling about on a CANE.

Well, there are some pretty cool canes out there! I walked around like that for awhile a few years ago when I hurt my foot. Helped a lot, actually.

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
I use so many Band-Aids in a month. I suppose that makes me a bit eccentric. Sadly, I don't usually end up with the really cool ones with Disney's Pocahontas or glow-in-the-dark Harry Potter ones.

All I have are blah Band-Aids right now. Well, I have some ginormous clear ones. Those are pretty cool.

seriously, Ruby, you should try the superglue on your cuts thing if you haven't already. I know people who swear up and down by it.

I like wearing my old lady hat. It is reddish-pinkish and fuzzy.

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
I love my old beat-up hoodie. it's worn out, but when it's cold, I wear it anyway. it has a bunch of patches all over it that I've collected over the years.

I had a pair of jeans like that. They were wonderful, comfy, pretty jeans despite all of the patches. However, I grew out of them in the 7th grade. *sigh* So long I ago. How I miss them.

I have a sleeping tee shirt and pajama bottoms like that...they're beyond patching, though...if I was gonna do that, it'd be easier to just make new ones at this point.

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
my poor teddy bear is starting to reach that point. I've had him since I was two and learned to sew on him because the thread holding him together gets weak and so on. lol... that damn bear has had more plastic surgery than Michael Jackson!

"I'd rather be amusingly irritating than normal and boring. When you're boring, people forget you."
--Eric, a guy in my writing class
If he isn't eccentric, then I don't know what eccentric means. You rock, Eric!

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
you know, I'm running out of reasons why I'm eccentric. and when I think of them, I forget them before I can post 'em in here.
but am I the only one who has noticed that it's the eccentric folks that create the best media (music/books/movies, etc.)?
take Michael Jackson for example--oh sure, he's a laughingstock of the world now, but twenty years ago, before that became the focal point of his media attention (and was, instead, part of the whole package), he was considered one of the greatest living performers of our time.
I have other examples, but I'll leave it at this for now. my brain is starting to argue with me.

Ya know, I do that too (think up something for the thread, then forget about it).

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
so why don't we steer this thread, JUST a little bit, towards other people who are eccentric, and not just ourselves? that'll keep it fresh, I think.

Re: Why are YOU eccentric?
That sounds pretty good. Okay, I think I'll talk about Eric.
Eric is such a funny guy. My writing class is awesome, but he makes me look forward to it even more. Eric always says such funny things and references the best books and movies. He never wears his sweatshirt correctly, he wears blood-tinted John Lennon glasses, and never sits in his chair correctly. Eric is quite smart and writes calculator codes for fun. There are so many things buzzing around in that guy's head. I cannot discribe how eccentric he is properly. Ewoks live!!
