Thunderhowl is next in the IC thread. Need Rex's action.
The forcefields are not visible unless something is hitting them. They do not show up with see the invisible. Rex can tell it's a magical force field though because of his natural senses.

Sorry for the delay Tom.
If Rex can get a clean shot off at the demon, he'll take it. Rex's position is that the Brodkil is Evil with a capital E and came through the Rifts onto this world to destroy humanity. Evil demons from the Rifts don't get the "benefit of the doubt". They have to earn humanity's trust like Karsh has.
Let me know if I can take a shot at the brodkil around the forcewalls...Rex will be holding his action until the demon menace is dealt with.

well it looks like Karsh kept Rex from taking the shot. Unless someone else is going to make a move we can drop out of initiative at this point. The Brodkil isn't going anywhere now and most of the characters look like they're waiting for the Law to arrive.

Maybe if they succeeded on a HF save...xaq wrote:Just wait, I bet Tom's not through: there's some wild Psi Stalkers nearby who probably see us as a freakin' smorgasboard.

Well, if we have some downtime, Morgan will probably want to go talk to some of the TW wizards and see if he can learn anything from them as far as knowledge (not technical, mind you, seeing as how Morgan wouldn't understand tech if it bit him in the ass. He can use it, sure, but design or build it? Hell no.)
**Don't know how he missed the huge TW hangar when he came into town. Probably was too thirsty to think.

I might have first mentioned it in the pre-game thread
http://forums.comicgenesis.com/viewtopi ... sc&start=0
and not actually in the OOC thread.
Anyway, yeah, WyNeKota is friendly to mages and psychics because they really can't afford not to be. shun psionics and you're unfriendly to the massive tribes of psi-stalkers to the East. Shun magic and you are unfriendly to the tribes of Natives to the North and South. Shun D-Bees and you are a target to the simvan tribes to the West. WyNeKota has a great deal of acceptance because its people want to survive.
Over the years the city grew up from a bunch of survivor huddling in a few hangars and the airport control tower. Their lives were saved by each group of the above on countless occasions so the townsfolk are friendly if not cautious to new comers with weird powers. This is one of the reasons that Dark Energy has had such a nice time here since he found himself on Rifts Earth. It is used to being a crossroads and a resupply point for people that don't have backing from a more powerful organization like the Justice Rangers, the Black Market, a Native Preserve, the Tundra Rangers, or one of the big nations from the Midwest.
Not that any of you guys have intimate knowledge of the city yet, but I like to at least give you guys some history out of game so that you can better understand the in game feel of the city. Sure it's a lot like any old west frontier town. You've got people getting caught up in schemes, waiting for the next batch of high tech supplies, trading with indians and lynching robbers... but it's also Rifts so they're going to worry a lot less about the color of your skin. Whether it's black, red, yellow, orange, green, furred, or scaly. Keeping your word and not killing folks goes further than anything else with these folks.
.... need to stop giving dissertations...
BTW, Have you guys seen the stats on the Christian Priests in the back of the Mystic Russia book? I love how they compare to the New West Preacher and the generic Rifts Priest of Light.

Keep up the great game guys.
Well i'm home now. Thinking of sending my resume to a couple of places here and a few mines see if they want a dashing and long haired cook.
Question...do we have a thread for amusing stories from past games that we have played??

Yeah. Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up. See this? This is my boomstick! It's a twelve gauge double barreled Remington, S-Mart's
top-of-the-line. You can find this in the sporting goods department.
That's right this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel and a hair trigger.
That's right. Shop Smart. Shop S-mart.

Re:
I must disagree, as the Brodkil is still armed and possessing supernatural strength, it's not killing in cold blood, but in combat. It's not a helpless foe, especially now that I'll have to use my vibro-blade.xaq wrote:Hey man, what can I say... killing in cold blood is against the alignment.
Besides, this isn't the Coalition... Karsh doesn't want to have to break Rex out of jail for murder.
Just wait, I bet Tom's not through: there's some wild Psi Stalkers nearby who probably see us as a freakin' smorgasboard.
If this town would throw Rex in jail for killing a threat to the common people like this Brodkil then it's much more likely that Karsh would have to rescue him from a lynching rather than jail.
Mmmm...smorgasboard. If they ask nicely, Rex will let them have his PPE. Hell, he doesn't use it anyway, and as a Dog Boy is probably used to giving up a little sugar to his Psi-Stalker master.
Ew. That didn't come out right at all.

Re:
But does that acceptance extend to demons? Rex is betting (hoping?) no. Demons are usually dinks, and Brodkil are usually no exception, and Rex is a friendly, happy puppy.Tom the Fanboy wrote:WyNeKota has a great deal of acceptance because its people want to survive.
...is anyone buying my propaganda?
Re: North Prairie Adventures - Rifts OOC
Nope.
Besides, very few people can sense the difference between "Demon" and "magically active Dee-Bee". Which is why the Coalition tends to treat ALL Dee-Bees the same, and why places like this one tend to treat all of the above as citizens.
With luck, they'll at least arrest the Brodkil for assaulting that other Dogboy and for public endangerment. Let's just hope they don't arrest us too!

Re: North Prairie Adventures - Rifts OOC
Yeah, that's one of the problems with Rifts, you have too many intuitive magic users like line walkers and mystics and not enough studious types likes wizards. Sure there's shifters who are used to dealing with creatures they summon and can explain stuff to you, but even they aren't as learned as a summoner when it comes to the particulars of what dimension things are coming from.
There's plenty of people in town that have Demon and Monster Lore but the most scholarly recognize the difference between demons (from Dyval or Hades), supernatural entities (from even weirder places), and subdemons who just happen to live on Earth. We'll just have to see what happens when the Law arrives.

I really don't know what you're implying.grtdrgn wrote:The wink at the end of your post gives me the willies, Tom. "Don't be evil," Tom.
What I meant was that the Law will be there
soon. The Law in town, in this case the sherriff
will be the one who actually has the right to
decide these kinds of matters. You all have
attacked a guy but unless the sheriff is evil
(which somebody would've told you about)
you'll all get treated fairly. No Worries!

"I broke the law and the... law won." Forgot about them.
Cute how you worked that subliminal smiley into your text. I just hope being treated fairly doesn't equate to a fine, seeing as how I'm plum broke. I'm sure it will work out, though.

Seems like everyone's had their say in game, I'll be updating with the arrival of the sheriff soon. Hopefully I'll be able to do that today.
