Nah, I don't think Alina would use something so similar to the princess in The Gamers.

Oh, Jess is going down. I'll bet the next thing she does is make a crack about LOTR and get in a catfight with Sarah.

The funny thing to me is that I've heard all of her remarks so far from people who were actually geeks. Dustin just can't defend his fandoms in the usual blustery fashion you'd use with a fellow geek.

Heh, I'm imagining Jess being on the receiving end of a rant like Kevin Smith's piece on the Lord of the Rings.

*glances at Jess suspiciously* You all don't suppose she's a proto-geek, do you? You know, someone destined to be a geek but tragicly deprived of sufficient exposure to geekdom in general to have had the chance to discover her true geek niche? Nah! She's just trying to humor them because they're Mark's friends. Evil Girlfriend must go down!

Actually, I think she's more oblivious to geekdom. She doesn't even appear to realize that they're geeks.

I wonder how things would work out if the Hunter crashed the party?

Awww Jess is actually quite cool about all the geekery, but like Aldagrim said probably just more oblivious than anything else. Actually she reminds me of my mum when she confuses Star Trek with Star Wars.

Is it possible to strangle people over the net yet? :P
Seriously though she's been living with my dad and I for over two decades now she shouldn't be making these mistakes anymore.

*Shrug* We've had a computer in our house for about that long and my Mom still doesn't know how to use them.

Also...Todays' comic...

...Yes.

But it is a pun, so that's a good thing.

Also, accidental double-post.

Apparently I am still missing out on a large portion of the geek world. I had to Google Londo to get the joke.

Still, I love the comic. It is definitely in my top 5 of the 60+ webcomics I have read so far.

I've never played Katamari, so I didn't get that part right away.

Well, the way that Jess is reacting to the game so far in today's comic does not inspire me with much hope for her future with Mark, but I am trying to keep a healthy "wait and see" attitude. Maybe she'll be more into it after she plays (like I was with Robotech.)
