Cultural capital of Illinois. Surprised you've never heard of it.

Farmer City is famous enough to be on the big map of the US in "Follow That Bird."

Are we going down to Cowtown? A cow's a friend to me!

That's what you think.

I realized that I did something amusing pertaining to one of the candidates in the primaries over New Years. Then I realized leaving a digitial record of it on an online forum is probably not a good idea. =/

I drive through Farmer City every time I go visit my grandma. Assuming I don't blink.

I am somewhat disappointed in how little activity there has been here today. I've had to do my job to keep from being bored. ...I have gotten to listen to some music, though.

Also...I'm fairly surprised at how much I would like to see Star Trek: The Tour when it goes to Tulsa. I have never been, in recollection, a Trekkie or any variation of the term. I've seen most of the movies and episodes of the various shows, but there's precious little trivia I've actually cared to store. Yet, upon seeing the website, I caught myself drooling a little.

Maybe this is my geek side trying to resettle the balance after doing the Titanic museum tour in Branson back in August...

?

It wasn't MY call.

.....Now that I think about it, I'm not entirely sure what WAS my call on that trip...the big slide at White Water, maybe...

It certainly wasn't a call to Jim and Kat to say "Hey, we're going to be visiting places that are, like, a two minute drive from your place!" Image

It's not like you missed anything. In spite of my efforts, the boat still sank.

Also, I had to keep up the trend. I didn't call anyone in Chicago a year back...

Okay so
Xmas eve we were at my mom's parents' house for dinner and such.
Sitting out in the garage drinking with Papa (grandfather) and others, and he starts talking about this doll he's had for years - he keeps her on display in this cabinet in the corner of his room. Well apparently he's trying to pass her on to another generation, but none of his granddaughters on the other side of the family will take her.
So, happily full of vodka and good cheer, I say sure I'll take her.

Today he and Nanny swung round and deposited the doll and cabinet at our house.

I totally forgot how huge this thing was.

Is that the Titanic museum where they give you a boarding pass with the name of an actual passenger on, and you find out what happened to them? I love those things. They have one at the First World War museum in Ypres when I went, and I think I managed to get Superman. My soldier took two German-held villages single-handedly, survived the war, and presumably spent the rest of his life fighting yetis in Antarctica.
