I like the Postscript on his bulletin about having been diagnosed:
PS I would just like to draw attention to everyone reading the above that this should be interpreted as 'I am not dead'. I will, of course, be dead at some future point, as will everybody else. For me, this maybe further off than you think - it's too soon to tell. I know it's a very human thing to say "Is there anything I can do", but in this case I would only entertain offers from very high-end experts in brain chemistry.
I laughed that he thoughtfully included "I will of course be dead at some future point."

see i saw that and thought "go damnit, i wish i was more advanced in my studies, i WOULD offer to help." i imagine you could get a decent amount of funding for research from him.rkolter wrote:I like the Postscript on his bulletin about having been diagnosed:

That might've been the Robert Jordan thread.
Anyway my grandmother suffered of alzheimers or so I've heard and it's sad to see it happen to such a great man as Pratchett. But as he said he's not dead yet and he probably has a couple of good years left ahead of him.

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.
