At the beginning of last year's event there was a bit of drama where some people didn't like the fact that certain other people were taking part. I was just trying to head that kind of thing off at the pass. Personally, I think an event like this works better if there's at least one poorly drawn stick figure comic in the mix. That way there's an element of danger.

Maan, if only I had a comic right now! If I did, I'd probably be down.

I don't hink you have to have a running comic to participate, as long as you can draw and has something people can draw for you (like a known avatar or an old comic)... hit me if I'm mistaken?

Doing a drawing for a comic you don't like or with a style or story that baffles you just makes it more of an artistic challenge and more fun. And if a person without strong drawing skills gives it the ol' college try to be funny or clever or sympathetic to what their secret-santee would like, it's all good in the end. XD

I'm hearing "Kasaii, hand-draw your entry".

;)

In all seriousness, I am in for both the Secret Santa and the Dutch Toy Drive.

Even though I haven't got an active comic, I'd like to put my name in the hat. (I WILL resurrect Turning Point. Eventually. Really.)

Well TBH and I do not lie, there's no one here, that I can say, "OMFG! YOU ARE GAYE!" Now I'm not sure of the reverse, but that's life for you. As Orlok the eternal says, "I compensate for nothing!"

In the spirit of things, I am interesting HIGHLY in how people's view other's works, done well it can be quite revealing on what other people think of the way you emphasise one's character...

Yeah, but "gaye," "ghey" and "gay" are ALL totally different.

Seems like I came back to the forums just in time (comic still running of course though), and you can count me in for the Secret Santa fan-art!
That is, if no one minds my anime-isq drawings.
I promise this year I will spell all names right!

Any idea of a schedule, like how long people have to submit themselves, when we'll get assigned our SS and when the gifts are due?

How about November 25th as a deadline for joining, and December 15th as a date to start posting gifts?
