snail wrote:Indeed you should! What uh.. product (??) did you use to make yours white?
Lorel's quick blue for bleach. then I use a toner called "old lady" I think its a clairol toner but I can't remember.

there's pictures of it from the toronto expo, that lego took. http://jonsweb.net/dusan/gallery/album64/P8250006

but my hair now is finally getting somewhere. (its hard to adjust from the lack of a mohawk for me). need to recolor soon though. its starting to grow out, so the white isn't so stark due to the roots.

quick blue bleach... if you live in the states you can get it at any sallys. that and the 40 cream developer is awesome. specially if you have really dark hair.

once its bleached any product will do, as long as you get the right kind. if you hair is already a good fairness after bleach, get the stuff that will mix to liliac to tone it out. if your hair is heavily orange, use the blue colored kind to get that out first.

I shy away from the kits personally. Just cause everyone's hair is a little different, and its best to get the right combination for ones hair. but yours came out beautiful.

manic panic fades too fast for me
Punky Professional stays so pure for a long time, you can get tubes of it at Sally's near the manic panic. Fewer selection usually in stores but their site seemed to have alot last time I checked.

when I was coloring I did their purple(also the lagoon blue) the purple was so shiny and saturated and as staining the tub is par for the course it was actually a brand that didn't permanently stain and was so easy to clean up

Damn now you guys make me wanna dye again

I hate bleaching though ._. so hot

What's toner, you guys? :(

One of my friends wanted me to bleach my hair white, back when I had a beard, so that I could dress up like Santa Claus or something. What a dork. :P Yeah, I never did it, but y'all's white hairs look pretty neat.

I cant find my Santa pics anywhere! But let me tell you, being Santa is awesome. I had every kid on a little stool, and like 6 hot chicks sitting on my lap

OF AGE CHICKS, not the typical Santa punter <_<'

Yeah, that was his idea, that I could get chicks to sit on my lap and tell me what they wanted for Christmas, or some such.

Toner is this stuff that neutralizes color in your hair.

You know how bleached hair can look kind of yellowy? A red/orange/yellow toner will cancel out that color and make it pure white. That's how you can get the *white* white look.

Punky colour is absolutely the best. Manic Panic, I do not like at all. I tried Special Effects and didn't like it much either. I used the quick blue bleach, and definitely recommend it, especially since you can buy single-use packets so you don't have to make a whole kit's worth of bleach.

Incidentally, the way I made my hair blue wasn't Punky, it was some other brand whose name I don't recall, but very similar. I found it at Sally's. Which is now the only place I will go for my hair-dying needs, 'cause they have everything.

Also, for really intense colors, it's good to get one of those plastic hair caps and leave it on for a loooong time, and give it some heat with a hair drier periodically.

Your hair rocks, Snail. :D
