Knowing how much time and fabric go into a dress like that, it wouldn't happen this year.

Ah ha... But it would happen!
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

Sput says the torso is long I see it now.
Actually, I think the torso and arms are fine. It's just the legs that could stand to be lengthened.

I actually think that the leg/torso ratio is about right, its just the shirt hangs too low, so it doesnt LOOK right. Make it more obvious where the hips are.

Despite the issues already listed, this is one of the most confident pieces I've seen you do, Mort. Nice job.

Hey, guys. It's pretty clear that our good friend bob281 isn't looking for advice on improving his delightfully exaggerated superhero designs. How about we let his argument drop and focus on some other doodles before this thread implodes?

Keff said what I was going to, but I'd like to add:

I don't like this new trend of critiqueing the crap out of someone's drawings because you don't like the person who drew it. This isn't the first time, and I don't like that people are thinking just because it's under the guise of ART CRITIQUE that they can dogpile on someone like this. The thinking here being "Well I can't just outright insult him, if only--WAIT, HIS DRAWING, ART CRITIQUE" and it's wrong, wrong, wrong.

Look, Mort's piece could have and should have had more people pointing things out and his post was practically inviting critiques. Instead, he got 4 posts, most of them were little one-liners.

Ultimately, people are falling into a habit of giving longwinded critiques to people whom they know won't listen as a form of an attack instead of giving them to people who need them and want them in the form of helpfulness.

In short, stop being so catty.

Okay. Everyone stop posting in this thread until I can split it off - then you can go hog-wild.

Except McDuffies of course. Image

I agree, BTW. This place is getting miserably unconstructive.

Hmm, for Mort's work it looks generally alright. I'd suggest taking another look at the neck/shoulder area. It seems to be too short, IMO. A teensy bit longer and it should look more natural.
