oh man, stupid human tricks. yeah, some pet owners really piss me off.

if I need to pick something up at a pet store, I usually leave fuming.
for example, bowls shouldn't be marketed as fish habitats!
for all species except bettas, it's cruel to keep them in unfiltered environments; you're basically giving them asthma. bettas are the exception, they actually should be kept in bowls over filtered tanks because of their unique lungs.... but pet stores never have any signs that make note of this. hell, they usually have dead fish in their tanks and obviously distressed ones, and aren't caring for them.

I wish I knew more about starting an independent business and were not still busy with school, I'd love to open a pet shop that supplies cruelty-free/fair trade/organic and local products, well cared for animals and shelter critters. too many people open pet shops for the wrong reasons.

Well, she WAS an original member of the Planeteers.

They kicked her out after she ate the first monkey, though.

At least she was better than the woman who ate the first Brazilian boy.

When the dogs stealth poop in their kennels. It's clean when you look over, then a minute later there's fresh poop waiting to be cleaned up by you.

Double standards and people that encourage them. Doubly so for people who know they're encouraging double standards for their own benefit.

Also, people who wait until the last second before turning or merging to use their turn signal. Please communicate to me so I don't crash into you!

Ooh...the people who, at road construction, go all the way to the front of the line after the "MERGE NOW" sign instead of taking the nearest opening in traffic.

NOW MEANS NOW!

And here I thought they didn't give out drivers licenses to people who couldn't read.

Or what about people who, during stopped traffic, decide to zoom down the shoulder and try to squeeze their way in at the front somewhere?

YOU'RE NOT SPECIAL DAMMIT! WAIT IN TRAFFIC LIKE THE REST OF US!

Or I guess that's kinda the same thing... except not...

Vith! That's another one I'm guilty of! Guess I'm more annoying than I thought... (Using 'annoying' too! sorry, whoever disliked that!)

Actually, they're not stupid... just evil. The type of evil I can appreciate, even though I choose not to partake in it.

There's one good exception to this that I know of--well, two, if you count emergencies. My mum's car had this lovely habit of *overheating* when caught in heavy stop-and go traffic--and if anything makes traffic worse, it's *another* dead car waiting for a tow truck. The best way to cool off the car was to get it going at highway speeds for a few minutes. (well, that or turn it off. But that would generally involve sitting in a hot car with no AC...) So at least consider that the car going past might have extenuating circumstances...

I'm willing to wager that that happens a severe minority of the time, while most of the time it's just another asslump who thinks he's being "clever" by going about this ingenious way to save himself time while inconveniencing the rest of us. If someone in car was giving birth or about to die, that's about the only time I'd let it slide. The rest of us have places we really need to be and other various little "emergencies" but we suck it up and wait like we're supposed to.

In your case, pulling over to the side of the road and letting your car cool down would be acceptable. Not flying down the shoulder at 70 mph. I'd like to think that's a very dangerous thing to do.
