I think I need a third job as well. Let's go Full Monty and become hilarious strippers.Kat North wrote:Jim's still feeling bad, has anther doctor appointment tomorrow. Don't fucking want to look for a third job. And I'm still upset about all the other shit that's been going on all year.

Y'know, I almost did too... Mom kicked me out because of it. But I couldn't afford the first week of the house fee to start out. Also, the place had "fantasy booths" (ie nasty prostitution booths) and that was where the girls apparently made most of their money. And the owner bragged that the girls stole things, so I'd best buy myself a lock for the locker.

I considered doing porn photo modeling, "go-go dancing", and bartending at a place that would have required skimpy outfits.
interesting debate, who is exploiting who? I figured men leer at me everyday no matter what clothes I'm wearing, so flat out stripping couldn't be that worse. yet I still felt relieved to find a job without these moral quandaries, indicating that as much as I may justify being a feminist and using my body for money, I still felt uncomfortable.

You could also just decide that porn is fun and making money is fun.
I honestly think the whole connection between porn and feminism is largely a red herring. The most equal-minded, wonderful, fair, non-gender-judging people in the world can still think that pictures of people fucking are erotic and the best things ever. And the most misogynist, anti-equality horrible people in the world can think those same pictures are the work of the devil and dirty and nasty. Porn can be sexist and exploitative, but it can also just be about joy in human sexuality.

I was supposed to resit some exams in order to nail a diploma (Not my High School diploma, I've got that and its safe. This is an extra diploma).
Got a letter today after spending the past 2 weeks studying and redoing course work. I can't retake the exams for some beurocratic reason. There's a wrench in the works of my higher education...

I just checked my schedule, and I'm only getting 28 hours at work this week. They hired a new girl last week, and she's a friend of the general manager...so guess who's getting some of my hours, even though I'M the manager and not her!!! I fucking KNEW they were gonna do that to me as soon as she mentioned that she knew them. This sucks; we haven't been able to pay our bills all year anyway, and NOW we're gonna have hospital and doctor bills added onto the regular ones, and they KNEW that, and they're STILL cutting back my hours.
I fucking HATE this town.

Why are you getting another diploma? I've never known any place that requires a diploma between schools.Killbert-Robby wrote:I was supposed to resit some exams in order to nail a diploma (Not my High School diploma, I've got that and its safe. This is an extra diploma).

Here, it's Special-> Regular/GED -> Associate's -> Bachelor's... etc.
A Special diploma is worth less than a regular diploma or a GED (Graduate Equivalency Diploma). It's basically an "You're of age (21) now, get out of here" degree.
