Oh I dunno man, you ever been to Jersey?

OK that was all fun but a little disclaimer here, I've been to New Jersey and it was all very lovely and some of the friendliest and nicest people I've met on the road lived in New Jersey. One guy yelled at us the entire time and that was because he didn't want us hurting ourselves trying to climb over a fence. I'm just playing up a stereotype for humor.

*whew*

Also, Lunaroki's comment made me wish to point out that the two largest college teams in Oregon are the Oregon State University Beavers and the University of Oregon Ducks. So with a little editting that sketch could be celebrating my home state! Whoohoo!

Don't see very many Canadian Geese around here. We do get some ducks, though. Mostly, it's pigeons. And the occasional eagle, which is cool.

The joke was about the fact that jersey smells like poo in several places.

Yeah, most of them think that it's New York Cities fault, but the world may never know.

Said the pieman to Simple Simon "Show me first your penny."
Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Sir, I have not any!"

I had meant to post this one during the Shadowrun storyline, but it got forgotten in the stacks of papers. This is an old, old sketch I did of our Shadowrun team, in the midst of a run on a Saeder-Krupp complex (hence, the stolen storm-trooper-esque armor). My character is the troll in the back with the big gun. Her name was Willow. The unconscious body strapped to her back is a cyber-ninja named Silhouette, and the guy with his arm blown off is Blitzkrieg, the team leader (a former military man turned Shadowrunner). The only people who weren't badly damaged yet at that point were the physical adept (Kanshi - the blood-spattered guy in front with the sword) and the street shaman (Caleo - the girl at the front right).

Ah, memories...

This is kind of a crappy sketch (yee, gods, the proportions are off!) but I think it accurately sums up the sort of day I had.

It was absolutely gorgeous here today - 31 degrees (87 F) and not a cloud in the sky. And where was I? At work, pulling even more overtime.

To really rub in in, I had a nice, shiny new copy of Deathly Hallows just waiting for me at home, and I've only had enough time since we got the book to read through the first three chapters. It's teasing me, I tell you, teasing me!

Um, a few weeks ago, I got cheated out with being on watch when Typhoon Man-Yi hit us?
I mean, I tracked the thing all week, I did olde-skool positioning, and plotting, and rudimetary forecasting based on the isobars and dominant direction of movement. It looked like it was gunna hit us - hard.

Turns out, our highest wind for the day was a gust of 40 kts. SUCKY!
And that was HOURS before CPA. At CPA, we were barely hitting 20 kts.
All in all it was anticlimatic. Weather Geek equivilent, I guess?

That WOULD have been a great way to spend the day...I managed to slip in enough reading throughout my day yesterday to finally finish Deathly Hallows, and it really IS the best in the series...

This being said, I took a picture of the Typhoon flag as it was flying, but lack the programs to shrink it to a suitable size to make it an avatar.
