I would be interested, but I probably would need some help at first. Mostly with character creation. I think I would not have too many problems once I could get started, though.
My name made sense when I first thought it up.

I apologize in advance for the inevitable awkwardness.

Loki:
CN Trickster God, also God of Fire. Invented the fishing net, slew Balder through proxy with a dart of holly.

Norse diety. The norse are traditionally associated with axe-type weapons. Also, listed s the "Chaos" weapon for the clerical Spiritual Weapon spell is the battleax.

Therefore, I'm going to rule for a favored weapon as a battle ax.|

Domains: Fire, Chaos, Trickery.

I'll gladly help with charecter creation, ideas and concepts, however, must belong solely to YOU.

Druids? In a city-type setting? Not exactly the best place for one. You probably would have a better chance as a Sorceror if you wanna be a caster.

I'm going to re-iterate that visiting Arcane Magick-users can get a temporary liscence.
And it should be also noted that, as with any law, especially in this city, there are ways to convince guardsmen to not enforce the law.

I was also stating that I had a HORRIBLE time playing a Druid, an experience I am really not in a hurry to repeat. Yeah, you won't catch me dead playing a druid unless they revise the class in a major way.

I have the Deity and Demigods 3.0 book with the web enhancements at home if you need info on the rest of the Olympian and Norse pantheons Thanatos. I mention it because they list his favored weapon as Dagger. I think they gave him the Evil Domain as well since they made him CE.

If you have your own stats though then I'll stay out of it. :)

Other options involves illegal concotions, including catstink and stinksap, the latter is of my own invention and works alot like catstink.

Remember those half-breeds in the ghetto districts? Where do we think the Black Market is?

Really? Thats awesome, I came up with that opinion after a wee bit of research on the diety, as I am without Dieties <ampersand> Demigods.

So, any chance the Olympion Pantheon includes info on Thanatos and/or Nyx/Nox/Nix (Whatever spelling they use)? I wanna see how Wizards views those guys, and if they're any different from how I see 'em.
(I see Thanatos as LN and Nyx as N, for example)

Tell you what, when I get home I'll grab the book and make a list of the gods they list, their domains, their alignments, and the favored weapons.

Then I can PM or email it to you.

PM'age would be beautiful.
No need to rush on that, though, seems like it might be an extensive list. I know the first thing on my list when I get home is the decision whether to sleep or go to PT.

That, and I imagine it is much harder for people in boats to get transfered to the sandbox...

I can't think of any more questions off the top of my head, so why don't we set up a time to all get a chatroom going on AIM or some other acceptable system? We can begin discussing our party composition, as well as get a preliminary count of how many people will be participating.

More like I'm getting off a 12-hour night watch right before morning PT starts. Its pretty much expected that the midwatch deosn't show up for PT in the morning. However, tomorrow and friday (Because I got of this morning, and its wendsday here), I have to show up (even though technically, Thursday PT is not mandatory.)
I like to PT, I just don't like falling asleep in the middle of a 5k.

I used to use AIM when I was in middle school, but I don't remember my password for it or anything. I'd be willing to join an IM service and IM-roleplay, and I could probably make it fit in my schedule between 7 pm and midnight New York City time, any day, or between 3pm and 5pm on most Thursdays and Wednesdays. I'm amused by the conversation on Chaotic paladins, and I've always sort of wanted to play an Emma Goldman-type character (just because raging anarchists are fun). I'm also curious about cross-playing (playing a character of the opposite sex). Thoughts on a gay male anti-government wizard, anyone?

IM/Chatroom is still up in the air.

Homosexual Male Anarchist Wizard?
Making him a half-blood would make him pretty much EXACTLY the type of person that the Lord Ruler Evilguy (What? you thought I didn't have a villan in mind?) would be trying to wipe out. And, he'd be gay.
I have no problems with any charecters being gay, solong as it doesn't dominate the session/charecter concept.

Don't know if anyone's ever used it but years ago I found a site called OpenRPG (think that was it) that looked like it might be good for this kind of thing.
Never used it right enough because I never actually managed to find a group or older players to help a newbie out.

A homosexual wizard? Thats nothing... one of my friends from college is a big Linux fan, and his second character was a Sorcerer who wore a red fedora.

His name? The Open Sourcerer.

And if you don't get that joke, you need to lurk more noob

That would be almost exactly like me creating a magenta-robed mage, obssesed over a certain amulet.
His cowl is always up and he carries a magical Bell, the book of the Dead and a candelabra, and THEN name him Rodeny.

As far as schedules go, I'm usually open from 7 p.m. to midnight central time any night of the week, and weekends are pretty much an open-all-day affair. Also, as I've already alluded, I'll be gone from August 8th till September 8th, but I'm still hella-interested. I generally tend to play my characters as chaotic neutral--i.e., I ignore the laws and torture the bad guys when it's really necessary. So far the only characters I've played were a cleric and what I suppose would be the equivalent of a ranger (it was a modified system a friend came up with), but I'm thinking probably a rogue this time. That being said, when we gonna kick off this shindig? My dice hand is getting itchy.

...Oh, yeah; no dice throwing. Cripes.

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights are best for me, I am usually available from 7pm to 10pm Mountain time. Weekends in the afternoon is also fine.

My schedule for work is yet to stabalize, as I am going on vacation in a week, and I will be gone for a week.

Whether or not I'll have my laptop with has yet to be decided.

I work from 6am to 2pm when I open, or 11am to 7pm if I close,

so I am pretty much guarunteed to be available after 8 or 8:30 mountain time, sometimes earlier than that.

I am thinking either a pally or a sorcerer. If I play a pally, I will be doing LE or CG, and if I play a sorcerer I'll probably be CN.

As for schedules, currently, I'm on watchbill duty, which means 12-hour shifts, this week and next week. Week after that, I'm still expecting watchbill duty.

I'll see what I can hammer out that will work, I'm thinking a kind of weekly post saying when chatroom time is.

Well, you the boss, thanatos, being the DM and all that. Why don't you post a time here for our first session, give us a day or three notice, and just tell anyone who can't make it to PM you with that fact.
