Have you thought of a new host?
Just asking, but then Comic Gen. may actually be more stable after they update their systems. I guess it depends on traffic.

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes
...or should I

I've heard it said that every free host has hiccups like this. Don't quote me, but I think they've migrated the CG server over to newer hardware and there are just a few kinks to work out.
Someone from Comic Genesis told me that Drunk Duck has a terrible upload system... that was enough to scare me spitless right there. Then there's another called Jeeves...somethingorother? They battle with downtime constantly, there.
It is irritating, and I hate to think a firstime visitor has followed some forsaken link to find the terrible "page cannot be displayed" error, but at least I'm not paying for ad banners w/project wonderful like a lot of other CG regulars are.
additionally if I had my own banner on my site I'd have to give them half of my take and that would be pretty damn irritating.
About the only thing I can do is make a mirror site but I really don't know that I want to. If this persists I will, but it will be a LOT of time to invest because my site is Comic-genesis specific in a lot of ways. Archives are built automatically by CG, so I'd have to go through and build another 20 pages...and continue building as the comic grows in size. Maybe it will come to that if these problems persist.
One good thing is the Forum is located on a separate server, so it always stays up and anyone who is looking for status can find it here when the comic is down.
cheerz!

I hate to say it, but its a free service. Unfortunately, theres not much we can really do. I realize they have advertisements and stuff, but how many of us actually click the advertisements and buy stuff. Very few. So annoying Yes, but I suppose we should at least be greatfull there is a place for The Forsaken that doesnt require us to subscribe. If all else fails, I suppose a subscription service would be the way to go.
