The Heroes Wild Theories Thread [potential spoilers]
For those of you who watch it...post 'em! However, if you're only part way through the series, I recommend not reading this thread as there are bound to be spoilers.
My own theories-
1. Seresh is a hero. After all, his sister was and this kind of thing seems to be HIGHLY hereditary. Whatever his ability is, it probably has to do with those visions of the kid he had. Plus, Peter (aka Mr. Talent Sponge) keeps having visions of the future even though he hasn't met anyone with that specific power. Sure, there was Issac, but he had to be painting...so did Peter when he used it.
2. The Patrellis' father was a hero (duh)...but he was also in that band of heroes that Lenderman was a part of, so they went way back.

Well, I don't know about theories, but I'm happy to come up with wild inconsistencies.
For example, in the last episode where Syler "killed" Peter with the glass, because Peter was invisible? Silly. He didn't really need to do the whole glass thing, just to find out where he'd gone. After all, Syler has Daredevil-like hearing, and could obviously hear wherever Peter was anyway.
Personally, I don't think that Suresh has any Hero abilities. He strikes me as a fella who'd already know if he did. I do think there's something sinister going on with the family though, what with the symbol on the back of his daddy's book cropping up all over the place.

I fully expect there to be more about his family, yeah, with his little sister and all. Still...maybe Random Vision Boy was just that- random. But that doesn't seem like the style of the series, really. And maybe he's the token normal guy....but I'm still holding out on that. And if not from him, I wonder where Peter keeps getting those visions from.
Come to that battle between Peter and Syler, there's other things that are odd, too. I mean, Peter could have stopped that glass in mid air. But perhaps it's all a matter of out-reflexing the other person. Sometimes you just aren't fast enough.
Does this mean that Peter has all the abilities that Syler has et?

I thought the Sylar-Peter battle was a bit anticlimactic and I'm annoyed that neither Peter nor Suresh had the foresight to get rid of Sylar while he was out cold. Seriously, one of them should be dead now for how idiotic they're being. As to wild speculation, I think future Hiro is much more future than we were originally led to believe and he's somehow found a way to save Issac so he knows what to tell people when he flips around in time(hence his assembly of a timeline as seen at the end of the latest episode). Also I think Petrelli Mother was/is part of the old group that lenderman was part of but there's no way she's letting anyone know what her power is.

If sylar dies i will cry :CCC

Vort, you may be right. I hadn't thought about that, but it seems obvious it would be mama Patrelli who ran with Lenderman. Or maybe both her and her husband. Hmmh.

I predict Jessica will be the one who takes down Sylar. The painting telling them how to do it is on its way to Linderman now.
I'm almost positive that Mohinder has no powers. If he did, Sylar would have detected it and eaten his brain.

Anyone reading this should be aware that there are spoilers in this post.
Got it?
Spoilers.
Don't complain to me when you read them.
Right?
Right.
Here we go.
Sylar probably can detect powered people if he's close enough to study them.
Most prevalent theory on the source for the dream powers: Ma Patrelli. Evidence: Peter had a prophetic and accurate dream about Nathan's car accident which occurred before he graduated nursing school. Why he and Charles Deveaux had the same dream is unanswered, but it is impossible for him to have gotten the powers from Old Man Deveaux as he was not taking care of him before Nathan's accident. It could have been a duplicate power, the writers have said they will go more into duplicates in the seasons to follow.
Thoughts on Pa Patrelli: Possibly powered, possibly not. If powered, most likely power is luck as evidenced in the comics.
If you haven't been reading the comics on NBC's site you NEED to if you want the full story, they are considered canon. Find a thread where people are participating in the ARG, too, this is also canon.
Yes, Peter has ALL the powers Sylar does, this has been confirmed by the writers. He has goo power, TK, super hearing, freezing, etc etc.
Sylar has a mystery power or two, these have not been spelled out in the show yet, but have been hinted at. It is unknown what he gained from Molly Walker's father, the man who was frozen. It's possible he has some form of invulnerability/thick skin as he has had heavy trauma and was not mortally wounded--he's been shot and fallen off a building before.
Molly Walker almost definitely has a super power of her own, it's unknown what it is. Popular theory is teleportation as she was in the cubby under the stairs, but the table in front was undisturbed. Future Hiro had been looking for her and reported having found her, I don't think it was clear where/when this was.
Popular theory on how Isaac passed along his information: The sketchbook and comic given to the fan at the beginning of the episode. Likelihood of this info being "spoilered" and released to the internet as part of the ARG, pretty high. I'd be surprised if it didn't surface somewhere.
Likelihood of Mohinder being powered: next to nothing. Papa Suresh would have definitely tested his son for anything like that, especially considering it's very likely his sister had powers.
We have been promised by the writers a Peter and Sylar power brawl in the episodes to come.
It has been unconfirmed how Sylar gains powers. Most popular theory is he eats brains, second popular theory is he studies them and somehow learns that way. It's been said we will get an answer to this in season 2.
One of Hiro's favorite characters is Future Trunks, his favorite games include the Chrono Cross/Chrono Trigger games.

My wild "Heroes" theories:
*Claire is Nathan's biological father, not the other way around.
*Niki is not a natural blonde.
*The Haitian is a white guy in blackface.
*Ando has a secret crush on Hiro; however Hiro only lusts after Isaac.
*Micah is the one really pulling the strings.
*Peter is secretly emo.
*Suresh doesn't really care for soccer.
*Sylar wuvs you.
*Mr. Bennet will switch to contact lenses

If Mohinder is a hero, his power has to be the ability to always trust the wrong people.

I think you'll find it's Peter he's gay for.sput wrote: 1. mohinder is so gay for sylar.

Unconfirmed, but it's not eating brains. We've seen Sylar after he's absorbed a power and his mouth isn't covered in blood. Plus, at least with the girl who could speed-learn, he didn't have time to eat her brain, andt he cops never said "Oh GOD, someone stole her brain!" Which I'm pretty sure someone would have said.Mercury Hat wrote:It has been unconfirmed how Sylar gains powers. I think he gets their powers by killing the person, personally.
I have a wild speculation that it's Syler, and not Peter, who explodes - my thinking is like this. There's someone with the power to change shape. Maybe Syler gets that power, changes to Peter to do something godawful in his name, and ends up being the one to explode. Peter gets the powers of those around him, but he doesn't always know it, or always use it. Syler ALWAYS uses the powers he gets, knows about them, and can't always control them (super-hearing, for example).
Just a thought.
Merc said most of what I was gonna say already, but heres some more:
-Sylar does not eat brains. The writers have gone on record as saying that that was indeed the original plan, but was scrapped when it seemed too zombie-campy. The way he does it is yet to be explained, although I think he just needs to look at it and tinker around a bit like he did with his watches.
-Little dream vision boy was just a little dream vision boy. A plot device.
-I'm guessing both petrelli parents were involved with linderman.
-what is ARG?

I always thought it was explained that Syler got his powers from other people just the same as how he dealt with his little watches. He opens them up, has a looksie, and instant understands how they work.
That's his power. Understanding how things work. If you can understand how something is done, then you can do it yourself.

As for the comics, Papa Petrelli was almost certainly NOT a hero, though Mama Petrelli almost certainly is.

Yep, and Hana the chick who can access data streams has been playing a huge part in the ARG and the comics.
For those who haven't been following either: Linderman had at first planned to rig the election in Nathan's favor by rigging the voting machines his company produced. However, Hana sent out a call to arms of people playing the game to stop his "logic bomb" (it was just playing a little online flash game for a week). In the end, Linderman failed and thus needed a new way to fix the election, which is why he needed Micah.
And yes, he does SOMETHING with the brains since they're all gone from all his victims. He probably does only need to study them plus incorporate some of the person's DNA like a very hands-on way of doing what Peter does naturally. There's still the question of what he does with the brains after, since they are totally gone and I don't think he just throws them in the garbage :| . Heck, he could even be consuming them as some showing of his delusions of grandeur.

Oh my god, that's so awesome. It threatened me with legal action if I tried to access it again without authorisationNoise Monkey wrote:

Just a note...Sylar didn't actually get to eat Super Learning Girl's brain...or whatever it is he does to them. I just like to say that he eats them, honestly.
Anyhow, he didn't actually get to it, did he? I mean, Hiro went back in time and she died of an aneurysm or some such instead of meeting Sylar.
Or am I misremembering an episode again?
