YAY! PITT-CON!

Well, I just got a bit of news on Pittsburgh from Mike George:

A Message from Comicon Chairman - Michael George

The convention is one week away and I know you are all excited. We're super-excited too, but I do have to give you a bit of bad news. Michael Turner, who has become a dear friend of my wife and I over the years, will not be able to make it to the 2007 Pittsburgh Comicon. As many of you may have heard, Michael is once again going through chemotherapy treatments. He is feeling strong and healthy, but the chemotherapy treatments which are currently being done on Thursdays sap Michael's strength for week-end events like ours, particularly when you add a cross country flight into the mix. I know many of you will be disappointed by Mr. Turner's absence, but our focus is on the hope that Michael will finally be able to put this behind him and return to Pittsburgh soon. Our hopes and prayers are with him.

Anyone wishing to pass along their best wishes for Michael can send them to:

Dang, that sucks. I've passed the info on to my friend Kelcey who was sad she couldn't make it as she really wanted to meet Michael Turner. Maybe she'll send him her marriage proposal in a get well card. ^^

Now if you got a legit beef against these people, take it off the Comic Genesis forums. Continue making trouble on here and you will be banned not just from this little forum, but from the entire server.

it's nearly time! we'll all be in pittsburgh (monroeville) in just a few short days!
i was thinking with room arrangements (at least for night #1) we should have me, rj, joy, and mish in one; frank and dennis in another; and kristy and her bro in the last (because they'll be getting in at "retarded o'clock"). what do ya think?

Yes, it's a shame about Michael Turner not being able to come. While his art doesn't wow me too much, he's still a super nice guy. It's also very sad that such a young man like him has to be fighting cancer instead of enjoying his life. I wish him all the best.

As to sleeping arrangements, as long as he/she/whoever can help with the room bill, I don't mind who stays with me. We can hash all that out once we get there.

Sounds great to me. I can't wait to see you guys!! 3 am isn't that late for us though ... it will only feel like midnight for us CA peeps coz of the time change. I will be able to help carry stuff up to the room if you need, Kristy. ^_^ Also: YAY!

Does anyone else see the admin posting or am I getting wonky info on my end? Some dude got banned... In related news, I will be losing my new car afterall it seems. Some garbage about needing a CA license to complete the deal. And as long as it is for one night. I know it sounds dumb but I can't sleep with strangers and dispense with jokes cause I am trying to be serious.I mean no offense and I know it is kind of late to be saying anything, but I am super wary around the unfamiliar and I already sleep on pins and needles in my comfort zone. i already was planning on bringing Tylenol P.M. for assistance. Oh, and Joy sez I talk in my sleep in tounges. 1 b3l13v3 1 sezs stuffs 1n L337sp3ak noobs. So if I do, don't be scered( I also might speak in ebonics yo. )
Anyways, I am going to wrestle some alka-seltzer down and eat food and go to sleep. Oh, and Dennis, how does hearing the words whip,leather, and paper-mache tomato in the same sentence making you feel? Sleep on it and get back to me. If'n it aint bugging yoo, then great. If so, exchange the word whip with sushi-mat...

i used to be (more or less) the same way, frank. i used to not be able to sleep anywhere but home. i got over that during college... 'cause i had to. I'm still weirded out by traveling places, but i'm okay now that i travel a lot more. (hear that, joy? no more sick! YAY!)
if you snore or talk in your sleep & keep me awake, prepare to die. i am used to my hubby's snores ('cause i know how to make him stop) and i'm used to joy's "mews." i know kristy and dennis don't snore or talk or make any other odd noises in their sleep. but if i get woken up by loud snores or l337-speak, you will be killed on sight. just a warning ^_^

So...con on Friday. Can't be there for the con proper (cuz I work) but I fully plan on being down in Monroeville as soon as I can get there from work.

Eikiji's got my cell number, so let me know when y'all get out of the Expo Mart on that first night.

Also, I'd love to welcome all of ya to Pittsburgh with something. What can I bring as a gift? I can make cookies, lasagna, sushi... >.> And I can bring video games, because I believe someone whispered in my ear there may be gaming.

The "banned dude" was no one worth your time or bother, Frank. I'm glad he's gone.

Yeah, I've shared rooms with Fred and Kristy a few times and Redtail once. Fred sometimes purrs like a kitty when she snoozes!

No one has complained so I guess I'm a pretty sound sleeper.

Yeah, I can handle mild snoring/talking from someone else...those guys who rattle the windows will get a pillow over their faces or else they'll sleep in the hotel hallway.

I grew up sharing a bedroom with a brother so sharing a hotel room never bothers me too much. As long as I have a clean, comfy bed and a book to read before bed, I'm happy.

I have the ability to sleep anywhere when I'm tired. It's my mutant cat powers.

I once slept in a little corner behind the television in someone else's room at a con once. We had like 9 people in there. Hehe.

Oh! Guess what guys! Today I went to Fresh Market and lo and behold look what I found!

WASABI PEANUTS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE NOSES OPTIONAL BOOTH! Even if I didn't finish my banner. XP

And Doodler, I will kill people for free sushi. Just so you know. ^_~
