You're ransoming the wrong fellow, good sir.

Caught in the headlamp glare of your own blinding vanity/Mesmerised by the stare of your shallow personality
Gorging the junk food of flattery you drag your fat ego around/Everyone floored by the battering you give to whoever's around
Oh Narcissus you petulant child admiring yourself in the curve of my eyes/Oh Narcissus you angel beguiled unsated by self you do nothing but die

Tomorrow, I promise! I was checking the thread every 5 minutes waiting for a review of my comic; it's not nice of me to make you wait this long; I apologize. So far I'm enjoying it, though!TdotOdot2k wrote:Maybe you should just write my review...ALMOST A WEEK LATER.perk_daddy wrote:Hmm...maybe I SHOULD demand a ransom...Col wrote: A lot of people seem to be doing that...

Well, mostly I was thinking about the new style of digital shading as opposed to the india ink style I used before.Tim wrote:New as compared to what? Did you have specific dates in mind?MixedMyth wrote:Ooo...I did have a question for Tim, if he reads this. My crosshatching and such is still very happhazard, but I was wondering what his thoughts were on the new shading style- if it were clearer, better, etc.
I'm not sure how much I can comment on the shading, since the comic seems to be taking place at night right now. But I'll take another look if you can cite examples.

http://www.squidninja.com - Dude. Buy a shirt. Seriously.
Then you've missed the whole hidden meaning of... No, no, you're probably right.ChaosBurnFlame wrote:I gave it a favorable review, and for the type of comic it was, it wasn't exactly in need of a lengthy synopsis of every nuance.

I didn't see your original, shorter review - but thank you for the one I did see! If you have any suggestions for the site design, please let me know, since what you were looking at *was* a redesign.

Glad you spotted the Aussie-flavor visuals. Oddly, the two (polar) influences on it are Chopper (close-ups, color-washes, hi-focus shots), and Somersault (quiet scenes that are empty of people, save for the main characters).Dutch! wrote:Okies. The review for Hopscotch is up. Top of page 5, I believe.
Cheers.
Cheers, and thanks.
Thanks to Glarryg for the comments (but you didn't finish reading all 1250+ strips!? Slacker!!)Glarryg wrote:Mansion of E review is up (on page 5 of the thread).

Re my strip possibly coming across as British; even though I am American, I have in recent months made a deliberate effort to insert some British slang into my characters' dialogue. It's a relatively easy way to add a touch of the "exotic" for my (I assume) mostly American audience, and I just like the words: "whinging". "stroppy". "nob".
And yes, I deliberately keep the site-design low-key and free of a lot of unneeded graphics, because I am also still on dial-up, and I have had to give up on reading through more webcomic archives than I can count because they load - ed - so - pain - ful - ly -slow - ly...

(Before anyone mentions it... lingo is not a gimmick for me... cos I actually talk that way!)

you put a k in front.
also, americans acting british is infuriating to brits.
its also infuriating when americans come to scotland and wear kilts.
its a sure way of spotting the americans, because they are the only people wearing kilts.
"YOUR SCOAAATTISH? OH GOOOAAAAAD! IM SCOAAATTISH!!! MYY GREAAAAT UNNCLES GRANNNNNDMOTHER WAS FROM ABERRDEEAEAAAN!! HAVE YOUU HEARD OF ABERDEAEAAAEAAN?"
Almost an actual quote!
