I'd've pointed out what happened to John Lennon, but that works too.The Neko wrote:Have you ever seen "Misery"?
Honestly, does negative feedback take the wind out of you?
I would SO want that distinction. Truly a badge of honor.Doll wrote:I only really have a problem when I feel the criticism is unwarranted or excessive, like the time someone told me my comic was the "worst webcomic in the world"... they obviously haven't seen many webcomics

I've gotten negative feedback. It's often where I've either actually botched something science related, or when something I've said has not come out clear. That's diminished since I've taken to drawing an entire batch of comics in one sitting.
In the FCBD, I've gotten negative feedback for the layout of my entry, and it's encouraged me to change things around.
Negative FEEDBACK is good for you. Negativity is bad.
You suck and your family should be fed to carnivorous apes! - bad
Ooh, sucks about your family and those carnivorous apes. You could draw the scene better if you realized that the light actually penetrates into the apes coat like this... - good.

MADE OF AWESOME
A comic where the author has Sailor Moon tell him what an incredible comic book artist he is serves as my benchmark for these things.

Re: MADE OF AWESOME
I've seen a comic where Stan Lee tells the artist that he is exactly what the stale comic book industry needs to shake things up.Cope wrote:A comic where the author has Sailor Moon tell him what an incredible comic book artist he is serves as my benchmark for these things.
It makes the part in Megatokyo where a random Japanese girl finds Piro's sketchbook and spends the next few days obsessing over how good Piro's manga is look humble by comparison.
