Morella: First let me say that I am not a church goer any longer. However, I went to church like a zealot when I was younger and even played with the idea of becoming a minister at one point. I would like to point out that the church does not see you as evil at all, and if you read the teachings (especially of the new testament and the followings of JC) you will see that God says Christians (rather his people, Christian is never really said in the Bible) are not to judge people, that is for God to do. The problem is that what most people see of the church are those who are outspoken, and these people tend to be the modern day Pharisees... zealots who use the words given to their own advantage. The main reason is that most people who actually follow the beliefs of the church and the teachings held in the Bible are rather humble, and don't push themselves on others. It is sad that most people have such a negative view of Christians, especially since I know so many good people on both side of that. (and yes I said good, I believe in good and evil, but I've said more than enough in this post
