oh, I don't know... June bugs are larger than lightning bugs/fireflies, but not nearly as big as a cicada... I haven't heard of them being as big as she says either... cicadas make a LOT of annoying noise...

the Chihuahua size reference was mostly for humorous effect, Sir FoxGuy. The bugs are about the length of the top sector of one's middle finger. (They are really REALLY fat though.) They're green and red, and have the habit of bashing into things.

Again, what was Dor's method of magic?

I've heard about fireflies, (^^ It's the literal translation of the Dutch word (vuurvliegen), but never of the word lightning bug.

Anyway, If Dor's magic wasn't lighting, then I don't know what

What we've been allowed to see so far looed pretty lightingly to me. The things Lily did were more mystic, like giving part of herself to Cat to safe his live (which Dor did as well ^^) In that way he certainly takes after his mother.
