No, I've not fallen from the face of the earth (yet)...

Though I might as well, because things are a mess right now.
First off, my computer has been up and running for a little less than a week, and I'm still at a loss for where to put the scanner. Well...actually, I really should return the scanner and buy one of my own. But does it really matter? The COM port for the modem's toast. No internet connection from THERE. I'm relying on my dad's PC, and I'm only able to be on intermittently. Frustrating? Yeah, but NOW add in the chaos DSL is creating. That is to say, we're still trying to install it. And now we've got to find an ISA video-card to replace our PCI card, since the DSL modem is PCI and we only have one PCI slot in the machine. Yes, it's a fossil, almost four years old ~_~
Guh. That reminds me. My parents have been on my back about getting a job. I'm busy trying to polish some of my stuff to send off, but I know that it's not going to be an easy road. They want me to be earning an income tomorrow, not two to twelve months from now. I want to be sane, that's all.
And to further complicate matters...well, that's something that I don't think needs to be brought up at the moment.
Yie. I didn't intend for this to become a rant, but that's what has happened.
------------------

Ouch. good luck on the finding of the video card, love. I don't suppose you could convince your parents to install it in your system for the time being...
And as for the further complicated things...*hugstight*
*Sam mumbles something about probably being wrong like normal before wandering back into the mists
------------------

*sigh*
Thank God I don't depend on my own internet connection (because I don't have one)
And well, I have a job, I'm studying, and I have lots of other stuff to do; it's a wonder that I can update my comic strip at all. Been there, suffered that.
Plus, my computer sucks. Almost four years old means 1997; it surely must be a Pentium+, which means it kicks my computer's ass majorly. Plus I don't own a scanner, so I must use one of those at my University...
Wondering if things can get worse, and I read this.
Anyway, I'm glad to see that you are alive at all. I thought that you either decided to freeze your comic strip and dissapear from the net forever (perhaps because someone offended you majorly), or that you got a major disease. Well, that sort of stuff is what people thinks about someone who suddenly stopped showing signs of life.
Seriously, I was worried. So worried that I decided to draw a miniseries of comics dedicated to the fact that you weren't around. But, now that you posted those news, that's not going to be necessary.
Hope to see you again soon, Calliope!
------------------

Sorry to hear about your machine, I built my own, so...
2. I wish you luck on finding a job in your field, and I know how tough it can be living at home while you aren't in school (Or, in my case, the Army), Don't Lose Hope!
3. Thank you for telling us about the situation, I was afraid that you'd lost interest, and quit. Now, if we could just get you some fairly recent gear...

Oy, well things have been kinda bumpy for me as well.
I've **finally** settled down into my new apartment. My new computer didn't like my printer and scanner and went nuts so I had to work on it for quite some time, difficult considering I work 40 hours per week.
I've managed to wean myself off of webcomic forums, and I follow only three or four comics now. In place of this addiction is my addiction to OpenDiary, however.
Tearing me further away from my Internet fetish is the fact that I've made two very good friends in my new town, one of whom has since become my girlfriend, AND there's a new college hire at work whom I've been befriending.
I finally feel like I have a normal life, but, I feel like I've lost a part of my life as well. Oh well.
------------------
