Say...can I claim to be the first person to mention the dreaded two words..."Clone Saga?" :o

Like others said, I'm witholding judgment. If it's as simple as making the posse goblins which inhabit an arcade, then I say it really could be a fresh new start, especially if that's more where Ralph wants to go storyline wise (better to have plot twists we might not have chosen ourselves than have a unhappy author churned out stories under duress of angry fanboys).

I still think Ben having memories of both realities would be interesting. I also think if there is one part that would bug me, it would be if the previous posse and storylines were retconned completely out of existence, as in they were always goblins and never existed as they were before. That would be a bit much to accept, although Ben remembering the previous timeline would help that out a bit.

Meh, too much speculation too soon. But can anyone blame us?

I just realized I hardly ever post here. And Ralph got me online to voice my opinion. Maybe that means the plot is working?

Weeeeeell...I saw it at first and *twitch*

Ten minutes later...

I guess it explains the title change.

Two minutes later...

*twitch*

Five minutes later...

If anyone could pull this off, it is RHJ, paws down. After how many years of reading the comic, I have no question in my mind of it. Though a certain rhyme...called Little Rabbit Foo Foo is bobbing through my head...you know what I mean.

I'm still holding off on what to think about what the changes will be like. I will say that, that isn't Velvet in my opinion. He has the cuteness factor of Velvet, but also looks like he could be from David Hopkins "Jack" comic.

It's one of those wait and see things I guess.

I think it'd stink if Ben was the only one who remembered everything as it was before. we'd have to reintroduce everyone and everything for each and every change. plus it seems like a bit of a let down to have a whole archive of storybuilding just to say "oh no, it was all a mistake"

as a part of Ben's subconscious (unless that's changed as well) they'd likely remember 'something' and would take the time to explain the differences themselves instead of going through the faux pas of "excuse me, I know you have full memories of your existance and all the time we've spent together but I suddenly have memories from a totally different life, can you please tell me again who and what you are."

yeah, that's a lot of situations I'd rather avoid.
I still say the doctor did it....

And sometimes you need to retcon a retcon.

Anyone remember "New Coke"? :D

It does beg the question as to "how far back" this retcon goes (remember when we though Ben's proposal to Lilly was just a dream  ).

I have a wierd thought, maybe I shouldn't speculate publically, but here goes...

What if as the posse changed from aspects of Ben's subconscious to more independent beings, they changed to completely seperate things, and now have "matured" into goblins inhabiting the arcade.

:shifty: Meh, I'm not sure if that makes sense.

For the record, I don't think Velvet looks like a Jack-esque goblin as much as...I don't know, the kind of "lovable" monsters that might be on a Saturday morning cartoon special (I can't think of a specific show). You know, where the normally frightening monsters are just friendly comic relief?

EDIT: Perhaps I'm thinking something along the lines of Casper, only with goblins.

It makes sense to me, I think. It's a way (Maybe... most of us don't know enough yet) to make some substantial changes within the logic of the story, rather than "author comes in and retcons everything". Ralph has set up some of the groundwork for this, maybe, in the escape from "Ronald McSatan" through the tabula rasa, where it was clear that the posse has become independent beings to some extent; it wouldn't be too big a step that this process has now completed.

You people are jumping to conclusions too fast.

The new thing with Velvet WILL NOT BE PERMANANT. BEN IS STILL ON PAIN KILLERS!!!

Juyst because he woke up DOES NOT MEAN HE'S NO LONGER UNDER THEIR INFLUENCE..

Sorry for the yelling but I mean damn.

I doubt it.

Norman Osborn is behind this?
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

I think you both hit on what I was going for. I love both those shows.
