Discussion Topic for current story line.

The place where no good punk-asses and aimless hipsters come to discuss a rather lousy comic.

I was intrigued by the joint Charles describes here http://yeahduff.comicgen.com/d/20040922.html

I see this kind of place in US films all the time but we don't have them so much here. The big "Street Meat" vendors around here are hot dog carts (but there aren't that many to be honest) and Souvlaki stands. Generally it's fries, onion rings and pita wraps Like Gyros and falafel.

Those places really have to be searched out to be found. There was a BBQ place in one of the towns that I lived in, Sammy's, the guy hired nothing but high school girls, and it was always a crap shoot as to if it was going to be open or if it was closed because he went home to sleep off his drunk.

Really great BBQ.

There's some place by me that has like 2 feet of restaurant and it's all dirty and crap. The guy just makes up prices too. It's pretty popular amongst the high school folks. It was shut down for a while due to health code violations, but there was some kind of protest and it reopened again pretty fast.

I really like today's update (Wednesday). Really feels like we're moving forward with them talking about what's happened since they last saw each other. That last panel is fantastic with the perspective and poses too.

Hey, thanks. The biggest problem with the page was the dialogue, actually. Sometimes my brain goes away for a while.

Mine left a two page note saying it would be back when it had realized it's place in the universe. Then it proceeded to quote Kerouac's On the Road.

HAHAHAHAfreakinHA... todays update is funny "because you listen to too much dashboard confessional" I tell this to my buddy Scotty all the time.

y'know... I am growing very tired of those singer/songwriters who try to disguise the fact that they are a simple singer/songwriter by giving themselves a band name. sheesh...

speaking of which... Machete Avenue is a duo of Chad and Scotty and you can find them by googling if you want. I like them alot and I have access to the new stuff to be on their full length which will be amazing! I constantly make fun of Scotty for his love of "D-Board"

I kind of didn't see that Dashboard Confessional coming. Never pegged Charles for listening to that.

You'd be surprised by what you may see at a dashboard show. Just ask Duff.

I didn't either. I'm now crushed; my heros are all dead. V__V *cuts*

Standing on it's own his original acoustic stuff was cool before it was tagged emo and every fuckface with a guitar decided that he could use all the whiny poetry he wrote in high school because he wasn't getting laid enough as song fodder. If people didn't consider it emo, I don't think it would annoy me as much.

The the choice of bands makes the comment that much more pointed and embarrassing. Subbing Jawbreaker's Dear You would have gotten more indie point, but it wouldn't have been as funny.

The actual amount of time Charles spends listening to Dashboard Confessional likely has been greatly exaggerrated. You forget that Mary knows all of his dirty secrets.

That suits him.

I'm not sure how they're referred to around here since I really only know one person here, and I knew he before hand.

Oddly enough I had a similar conversation with my roommate Saturday night... Sunday morning, whichever.

Being palatable. Well that's how the conversation ended anyway.
