That actually sounds like an interesting idea, perhaps it should be done after this grind is over.

I don't know. That seems a little unfair for the partners who get matched with the long-running comics, who aren't a factor in the competition until the end, if at all.
Cookie wrote:I suggest what others have been saying ever since the Lazy Grind has been around: If you wanted to join the grind but didn't get a chance to, start your own one! Really, I don't see why people don't take initiative to do their own thing instead of complaining about not getting in. It's not like we have a monopoly on the grind. And yeah, if this one got too huge it'd be a LOT of work for those handling the organization and website and stuff.

Besides, having competing 3x/week grinds might be fun. And there seem to be enough people interested. All you need is a few people willing to do the work (setting up a website and all that jazz, handling submissions, judges for quality if you want that kind of thing)...
Oh yeah? Maybe I will!

I convinced myself not to post the rant I had written, because it did border on the elitism arguement, and I don't really want to enter that discussion. I still, however, find it a little dubious that the Lazy Grind people say the list of entrants was getting too high...even though it's only an extra 10 more or so from last time, and twice as many judges to handle it. (The original Daily Grind, for reference, started with 56 participants and 3 judges). I do admit that I don't know the intricate details about the whole process, so maybe it was getting to be too much workload, I can't say. But I digress...

So, who here would be interested in starting another grind? I'll offer to help organize, of course, and we'll need at least a couple more volunteers for judging/website/banner stuff.

Well, granted it wouldn't be completely equal to everyone, but part of the fun would be the pairing up, which would be done by some random method like names from a hat (meaning it's completely a luck thing that decides who you get paired up with). Then the two can decide who goes first (meaning if the second person misses an update before the first one is out, it doesn't matter), and it's a bit more exciting when it's a team effort (and more reason to not flake out). Besides, the only person who might not be a factor is the partner of the one that wins. The only downside is something like this could take years if taken seriously.
So, who here would be interested in starting another grind? I'll offer to help organize, of course, and we'll need at least a couple more volunteers for judging/website/banner stuff.
Well, since I missed the Lazy Grind, I would be interested in participating at least, since I really need a good kick in the rear to do my comic. If I can get some of this crazy workload off of me, then I may be able to contribute graphics or help organize if you need help.

I've heard some women like to be smothered in kisses. But then again, cats lick to kiss you, and they lick other parts of their bodies too. And, their tongue is very raspy.

So it'd be more like being sandpapered with a butt flavored sander.

I think the idea of a grind for people who already make updates consistantly is silly. why is it lazy then? :s

I dunno. I know I'm in on this because, one, well I was in the first. (Gotta be in teh second!) & 2, because i have problems with sticking..with. well. anything!

A lot of people on this time around's list have a hard time meeting updates, don't meet updates, didn't or don't have comics and etc.

...after this one i would like to start a 2x week uber lazy grind. i get the feeling that's the best i'll be able to manage. i could recruit kirb! XD

(i like the idea of watching a tagteam one. intriiiiguing!)
lazy sput is lazy.

There was/still is I believe, a contest called the daily grind. Cortland was a part of it for a long time where you have to post every single day. So 3 times a week in comparison is "lazy"

Also I think there was also the fact that it was to get lazy people going.
